Thought of the month. To stop Pride you have to, see the
tender mercies and give the credit to God not man. Words matter, they can hurt
or heal. Faith is not fear. Know where fear comes from.
Blessing: we had signed up to feed the missionaries. It just
so happens it was a crazy week at work and Greg had a meeting at the church
that day. Tender mercies I invited another
family over, worked out great. I bore my testimony at church. It was really a
thankamony for all the support that the ward has given us through this Denali
trial. I just said that sometimes things are not ok and that is ok. When I sat down Azalyn said, mom if you tell
me when you are sad, I will color you a picture. Sweet blessing for Colvin; every
day after sacrament meeting Colvin goes to the lib and gets a book of Mormon.
One Sunday the lib was closed. He was trying to keep calm. This sweet lady said
Colvin I have a key what do you need. The little things do matter.
I helped every day at the book fair and LOVED it. The first
day was the only slow day. It was hard to be gone all day then come home and do
my house job, BUT it showed me I really would love a part time job just to get
out.
School: Azalyn is still having a hard time at home before
and after school. The poor girl is exhausted but will not take a nap and will
not sleep in past 6. It does not help that Colvin and her stay up reading at night.
She has been talking about friends at school so that is a step in the right direction.
Colvin loves school and has started to become a reader. There have been a few nights
he has stayed up for 2 hr. just to finish a book. Money is a great 2nd
bonus. Every 2 books he finishes is worth $3. Colvin holds his sisters hand
every day going into school and to the car after school. It helps them both. We had parent teacher conference, and all the
kids were doing great. Azalyn is bord in Math because she can count to 100 and
the goal for this semester is 10. Most of Denali’s teachers understand his
issues. I don’t expect his grades to be perfect this semester. Colvin’s was
student lead, he was so excited to show me everything. Once a month you can
take lunch for your students. This month was Az. It was kind of hard to get lunch
because she eats at 10:45. She was hiding under the table when I got there because
she was nervous I forgot. I was a few minutes late. Azalyn and Denali both got student
of the month this month. My goal this year is to attend as many things as
possible. Azalyn had a doctors appointment that morning. She kept telling the
doctor we need to hurry I have to get back to school. We made it with time to spare.
Life: I got a few styles of heatless curls for Azalyn. Her
hair has a little bit of natural curl, so curls stay in her hair. It is SOO cute,
but she hates to sleep in them. I cleaned the garage, but it was so hot. Any
other outside work is going to have to wait till it cools off. Denali will sleep talk; super funny. He woke
up one night as I was kissing him good night and said mom do you want to play
my really fun game called Strawberry Mountain. YES, son I do.
Talking about the weather, we really wanted to go camping
but things just have not worked out. We did inside camping, and we even put up
the tent in the front room. It was not the best night sleep for me. I slept
with Azalyn and half way through the night our mattress deflated. Yes, memories
were made so success. I put on the hover seats. Azalyn crashed but I made her
get back on and now she wants to hoverboard every night. I finally was able to use my birthday/Mother’s
Day gift, 60 min massage. The lady had the strongest hands I have ever felt. At
times it was not super relaxing, but man did I feel great after.
Yes, I have to put in a plug for activity days. We did
T-shirt bags, and it was WOW! The girls are getting better because we are
getting to know their personality a little more. Talking about personality, I have to put a
plug in for mine. If I have to stop something it has to be all or nothing. Here is also a plug for primary. They had a
primary activity. The Theme was I love to see the temple. Azalyn and Colvin had
a great time. Colvin's new goal in life is to visit all the Temples in Arizona.
Azalyn got tubes taken out and new tubes put back in. They
also took out her adenoids for the 2nd time. She did really good,
but she just wanted me to hold her when she woke up, did not get sick taking
the win. She slept for about two hrs. then was100% fine. The hardest part was
not swimming for 3 days.
The boys wanted to start a business. They decided to sale
rubber band bracelets and name bead bracelets. They found out the hard way that
it takes WORK. They had a few people order 10 bracelets each. I learned how to make a few cool styles of
rubber band bracelets with forks. You can only make so many of the same style before
it gets boring.
Greg has started a new thing with the kids. Each day one kid
gets to take a walk with only them and dad. They all look forward to their day.
The night before surgery Azalyn cropped. You must be able to
breathe to go to school, I stayed home with her. Denali: It was time for the
last surgery. He got a blessing: and the main focus was this is to build your
faith. You are going to grow into a strong man but remember what the lord has
done for you. Surgery went well, but he wakes up like me and mom SICK, and sick
after appendix surgery is just PAIN! Yes, he had to stay the night in the
hospital. Greg stayed all day with him, and I spent the night. The hospital
knew he was spending the night but did not have a room ready. They did not get
a parent bed in the room till about 8. They had the worst chair in the room for
Greg, he had to sit in it all day. For being a children’s hospital, they were
not very children and parent friendly. Home he just hurt, every day was a little
better. We had a lot of people come this
time because they knew what was happening. The most painful thing to do was
laugh. He made it to school Wednesday. The ward brought in 3 meals, and it was
SO nice. He was up every 3 hrs. for the first few days. It was so nice not
having to think about food. The day we
got home Greg took Azlyn to a birthday party. Denali went and laid down. We had
had a ruff night in the hospital. When I sat down on the couch Colvin came and
said YA, my turn to get a parent. Colvin and I are in the no surgery club. Greg
just has his for next month. I just need to make sure Colvin still feels seen.
The main thing Denali wanted to do after getting out of the hospital
was eat at zupas. We were not able to do that the day of but a few days after
was zupa days. We found a good and bad thing; there is a zupas about 2miles
from us. I told Greg maybe I want a job at Zupa. Greg made me a killer resume.
One Saturday Greg and I had a DIY go
south. We loaded up in the car and went to another of the county parks. This
was a nature preserve. There was about a mile hike that was under trees and followed
a little stream. It was just fun. Azalyn who did not want to go hiking was yelling
at us to hurry up the whole time. Colvin
was determined to finish the scavenger hunt they had. Denali just talked about
all the WWII facts he knew the whole time.
I had a best friend in High school. Brittany; we each have 3
kids. 2 boys (her boys are the youngest) and a girl (her girl is the oldest)
She has came down to Phoenix a few times and has tried to come see us. It has
just not worked out. She was finally able to catch us. It was so fun. She is a
type of friend that even if we don’t see each other for a few yrs when we do
get to see each other it is like no time has passed. Our kids even got a long
really well.
I chopped off my hair. I have been growing out the one side for
a few month so I could make everything the same length again. This is the shortest
I have ever gone, and Greg does not hate it. It is really easy to maintain if
it does not get wet. My curls have came back with a vengeance. Morning hair after
going to bed with wet hair takes on a whole new meaning of scary.
Let’s, end with a laugh. You can laugh or cry; laugh. Oreo went
into heat. Marshmallow LOVES her soo soo much. I tried to put a diaper on her,
but he would rip it off. There was one day I put on 4 different diapers. There
was even a night that we had to kennel Marshmallow because he was breathing so
hard. We did not want him to blow his heart. We might be getting puppies again.
Azalyn is overjoyed, but I know there will be tears again. Stay tuned!
