The lack of
pictures is not lack of activities. Actually, it is us doing too much and not
even taking time to snap a picture. One Sunday Azalyn sleep in till 10.
Since it is so hot, we have to do something for the heat. Snow Cones were on the agenda. Azalyn discovered otter pops and hate about 10 a day. Staying hydrated anyway we can.
Denali has a dream of his dad being his basketball coach. Greg bought a hoop so Denali can start working on that dream. It took us 2 days and we had to stop the first day because we ran out of daylight. Colvin was the one that actually fell in love with the hoop. Was out every morning and begging us every night to play.
A lesson to be learned; everything will work out, and things happen (even small things) for a reason. The boys wanted to go to the Orem Park with NO splash pad. Well, when we got there the wind started up and a splash pad would have been cold. We had to run to Costco which is right there. Sometimes you also have bad days just so you can remember the good. I went to 3 stores to find orange chicken sauce. Did I find any no, but dinner and life went on. Another lesson I learned DO NOT take all 3 kids school supply shopping. Online might take longer but worth the stress. Found the BEST web site, Z-library. It has every book you can think of. It took me a day or 2 to figure out how to get it on my kindle but worth the work.
For the 4th we went bowling and had a great time. Azalyn loved pushing my ball. Tangent: I wanted to do something cool in her hair for the fourth. It took me a 20min car ride to figure out how to put a start in her hair. Then about 10min of wrestling her to do her hair. It turned out ok. Work in progress. BACK: after bowling we went to the mall to eat. Best plan ever! I have started thinking of Christmas. The first thing the kids wanted to do at BYU was get "their feet" wet at the pond. Took all of 1min to have three little bodies soaking wet. It again turned out great because it was hot. I am so grateful for the FREEDOMS we have. Sometimes we forget all the small freedoms like this BLOG I can write anything I want. THANK YOU!
We love doing family things. We went to the Vineyard Park. I took Az down the water slide, and she loved it. The zip lines were closed but we still had a great time. Then at Lagoon Greg and I got to go on re-entry together. Az was not happy the whole time. The boys tried so hard. Azalyn lost a shoe at lagoon. We had to find a worker to climb down a latter to get it. Best or worst timing how every you look at it. The boys talked Greg into coming to the movies at Splash Summit. The water was a little colder, but we still had a great time. We finally biked to In-N-Out. Greg was terrified we were going to get hit. For about 200 feet there is no sidewalk. 3 cars passed us. The next time I took the kids to maverick I asked, "fast and dangerous or slow and safe" we took the fast way. Greg prayed for us the whole time. The drive in had another kid movie, Boss Baby II. It was good but the kids were all tired and moody. Azalyn loves nail polish, a lady was doing a special for glitter toes. I took AZ on a mommy and me date. She LOVED it. She did not move the whole time. Greg took the boys on a daddy date. They had a great time.
I love to make new things. I made a chair for the pool, I put pool noodles on the leg of a chair, then wrapped rocks in the middle. worked great. I finally took the kids biking from park to park. We met Greg at Wendy’s for lunch. Going to lunch was uneventful. The way home made up for it. Colvin fell on a rock then got stung by a wasp. We jumped in the river and Azalyn tried to follow me to the deep part. She doggie paddled and kept her head up.
At church one Sunday the thought came to mind; I know Greg wants to get a new job, but school is the most important thing. I have really been trying to do come follow me more. It really does help if we do it right before bed.
SAD SAD news: Timber is moving back to New Mexico. Yes, I cried but the thought came to me: she was here when it was life and death. I know I could have never made it without her when the boys were little. However, I am stronger now and I can fly. Oh, how I am going to miss her being close. I have already made plans to see her during spring break. I had to go help Timber pack. On our way up Azalyn was NOT going to take a nap. She even folded her arms in defiance of taking her bottle. I thought it was so funny I grabbed my phone to snap a picture and she was already out. I forgot my glasses and extra contacts. Going a whole day blind gave me newfound appreciation for sight. Greg met us in Fillmore with glasses and contacts. It worked out great because we took the kids to the hot pots. Timber was really trying to downsize. Her cop car needs fixed but she did not have the time. I told her I could fix it. Then I called and asked Baler if he wanted to trade his pink car, he was not so sure until I showed him the cop car. Then he was all about the trade. On the way home I made Azalyn a sock head band, it just keeps her head from dropping forward when she sleeps. Works like a charm.
Big News: Greg got a new car. Sorry no pictures it had to go back into the shop. It is a 2017 Honda Pilot. It sits 7 (we wanted something that would fit the whole family just in case) Greg and I spent "date night" googling how to do ... for the car.
Family News: Sierra had her colonoscopy, and she had a polyp. My family history is scary.
