Satan does not want you to succeed. The Lord does, he can
make anything into a blessing. I was asked to go pick up a new investigator, of
course we had to be late getting out and picking her up. However, the missionaries
were in the back and had a whole bench saved just for us. Sundays Satan works
extra hard, I feel like the whole family does not make it to church more than
just once a month. Greg got sick, then Azalyn crouped. We got sister missionary’s
in our ward. We were able to have them over for dinner. They bring a fun spirit
to the house. The kids and I (Greg had to work late) went to a ward movie/game
night. It was the best turn out, everyone had fun.
Greg was able to give each of the kids and me a blessing for
this new school year. (thanks to google I was able to translate the blessings. Having
priesthood in the home really does matter.
On the last day of summer, the kids wanted to take it easy.
We watched a movie in my bed. My kids can be creative when I shut the TV off.
They took regular balloons, then filled them up with water to see how big they
could get them. I was impressed. All of Gregs presents finally came in. We did
an impromptu present opening day.
We did one of the largest bulk pick up ever. I had a bulk
pick up scheduled a few weeks ago and 100% spaced it. Blessing in disguise
because we just kept adding to our pile. It feels so good to declutter.
SCHOOL: This year Denali started a day before the others.
Dropping him off was hard my heart hurt like this is real school. I cannot step
in, did I teach him enough, 4 years goes so fast. HELP I am not ready.
The next day Azalyn was NOT happy to start school. Greg was
able to go to both school drop offs with me. I needed a shoulder to cry on. To
help Azalyn look forward to school I 3D printed a few hair things. The dragon
was the best and she loved it for 2 days since she got a ton of attention.
When Greg got into work his boss asked well now what, who
does drop off and pick up the rest of the year. Greg said Syringa now does it
all, his boss responded that would be nice. Greg was so grateful to me. He has been calling Denali and Azalyn on our
way to school, since he gets to spend the mornings with Colvin. The little
things are what matter the most.
With the kids gone the house is way to quiet. My house can
stay clean till 3. My mornings and afternoon is steady till 2:15 then CRAZY. I
am in the car about 2+ hours a day. Upside I get a lot of books on tapes listened
to. I listened to a self-help book, (that happens about every 50 books or so)
The Untethered Soul. In the book it tells you to do things that scare you, for
me it is just leaving my house. I was able to go to the temple before it closed
for a few months. I just love the spirit it puts into my heart. Colvin is living his best life. He does
mascot/cheer in the morning. Greg has to take him to school before work. Then
Cross Country after school till 5:30 or 6. The worst part of kids going to
different schools is I don’t get to sleep in on Mondays. A huge upside is on
Wednesday’s I get one on one time with Denali.
Denali also started online seminary this year. He has really enjoyed it
and I love him implementing some of his lessons. Like being more intentional
with his prayers. Denali’s school gets out 30mins before the others. He
loves/hates being in the car with me waiting. If we park by the circle K I let
him go in and get a slushy. He is the best baby sitter too, he helps with
homework and starts dinner. He thinks people in drive line are funny. They
cannot read “please, do not block driveway, thank you” Thank heavens for alarms.
I was running an errand and my alarm when off to get Denali. I was still late
but did not forget him completely thanks to the alarm. I had to down size my ring, that is a first
for me.
WEIGHT: The 1.75 shot is havoc on my stomach. My stomach
hates any type of Cheetos. That is super sad because my taste buds love them. I
have a green dress that was my “Fat” dress. I wore it to church, and it was
almost baggie on me. That is what hard work and dedication does. I did a something, wore just a slip under my
dress. I was just going to stay home all day so why not, nope after I picked up
Denali, I realized we had to run a few errands FREEING. I did a first, I went
to white tanks, sat down and read. I wanted to do that all last year. Cleaning
will always be there, take time for you. I have been experimenting with nails.
I got tips to try, however glue and I are not friends. I have to keep working
on that.
Denali has been sleeping in the office, he does not want to
be down stairs on his own or take over Azalyn’s room. We bought him a murphy
bed, that way he can have something that is his. We started it and our goal is to
be done by Christmas.
The boys went to a Smash bros competition. Greg and Colvin
just had fun playing. Denali won-lost-won-lost. He got 10th overall.
They had a ton of fun. Denali gave a talk in church; they gave him a conference
talk and questions to help with his talk. He did so good, talked slowly, poised
and loud. Colvin gave a lesson, I was not able to be there (HAH), but he had a
game and candy, so it had to go well.
Azalyn and I had a shopping day. She loves it when she has a
budget. She is really good about staying in her budget and deciding what she
really wants. Then she went to her best friends birthday party. They had a pinata
and she broke their stick.
Family: Greg and I were both released from our callings. We
are just waiting for the next best things. I think the lord knows that we
needed to breathe. As a family we have been playing a lot of 99nights. It’s really
the only video game we can do ALL together.
All the kids had their checkups. Azalyn is 4 feet 2 inch and
52lbs. Denali is 6feet from the doctor. Colvin gets to go back for a hearing
check.
At the birthday party with Azalyn, I talked to her other
friends dad the whole time. Found out they like to go to hurricane harbor. We
made a plan to meet up. It was just the
dad and his kids. Greg left me to take the boys on slides. NOPE that was awkward
I took Azalyn and her friend on slides.
We went to two WMBA games. I bought me a Sophie Cunningham shirt.
Greg asked me “Please don’t ware it”, he did not want me to get beat up. The
first game Azalyn and Denali both caught a shirt. The 2nd game
Denali caught another shirt but gave it to his brother. We got on the big
screen the 2nd game, Denali put Azalyn on his shoulders.
Greg had a few late nights. I try to do something with the
kids when that happens. We went to Bucky’s. For anyone that has not been there
it is like Walmart and Maverik’s red headed stepchild. The food is good, but
there desserts are the best.
Colvin got student of the month. Greg and I got to go, and
it was 2 fold. We were able to hear his name called and see him in the mascot
(he did not come down from being the mascot). Then I went to the 2nd
grade student of the month just to see Colvin. I ended up taking Azalyn, so we
did not have to stay in drive line. That made me super late picking up Denali,
and cross country was cancelled so I had to stay in drive line to get Colvin.
