Helping Mom

My Dad got hurt this year at a rodeo. He broke 7 ribs and separated 4 or 5. He was down for the count. I love my dad to death but he is not a very good sick person. Sierra and I went down for a whole week to help my mom. I don't know how much helping we did but we had a good time. Preston brought Sierra down Saturday night, then her and I left Sunday afternoon. I drove and Sierra watched kids. She said I got the easy job. About Ceder City the kids were done. We wanted to know were all the cops were. I might of been speeding a little. If the cop was going to take us they were going to take all of us.

The sad part about Dad was he could not sleep. When he slept he felt better but got board on the couch and demanding. One day he made Sierra and mom go and fix water pipe. He really wanted help (do). Mom and Sierra did a fine job.  Katana went out and helped keep duke out of their way. I came out when Denali woke up. Well, since we were all out there he wanted us to just move a few calves.  Our calves are not nice.  I had Denali in the stroller between the fience and the mule (ATV). Dad said you might want to take him out. (First clue; not a good idea to be doing this on foot) Sierra opened the gate first thing they did run her up the fince (second clue: very bad idea) all but one went into the next pin just fine. Where did the last one run, right over the stroller. Good thing I listened to Dad, and got Denali out of the stroller. I might of said a bad word or two, sometimes when you see your babies stroller get ran over and your baby was in about a  min before you get a freebi.

(Sorry no pictures, but some good stories)
Thursday we went to Levi's one year birthday party. It was so fun to get to see the kids. They grow up so fasts. We got to milk the goat. Trujillo took us on a buggie ride and Charlotte made good cake. Sierra got to drive home, but both babies fell asleep.
Friday mom had to go and work at the desert. Sierra and I were in charge of dad. It was going really good till he asked, (asked: clue one, not good) if we could go and cut a few strings on a few bails of hay. We said that we would do it when the kids went down, he said that we might want to wait till they woke up, they would love it outside (clue two). A few turned out to be 12, yes 12 with 6 stings each and two babies. I cut Sierra watched the babies. Again she said I got the easy job. Then to be nice daughters Sierra fed the horses while I watched the babies. On our way up dad met us half way. He said there were a few, (ya) more that he wanted us to cut. We started laughing, (since that and sneezing hurt the worst with his broken ribs). He just walked away holding his ribs. We went and cut 9 more bails. I can some up moms day in one word HELL!!!!! Greg and Preston made it down really later. It was nice not having to sleep by myself.
Saturday mom had got dad tickets for Wicked. Dad took lots of pain killers so he could go. They ended up loving it.

Saturday was a big day. Lukas and Brittany came over. We had to work a few cows and one had a growth. It was really cool to see the vet at work. Greg also got to play cowboy.
In the afternoon my friend Brittany, Shaun and Baylee came and we killed two of my moms chickens. I love going back to my roots. I also made Brittany skin her chicken. If you are going to do the fun part you are going to do the hard part. Pictures say a 1000 words.

It was so fun to get to just hang out with Brittany. She is really a true friend. As our kids get older I know that they are going to have fun playing together. Denali loves just watching kids. He got where he would grab Katana as she got with in reach. (We joked that Baylee and Denali are betrothed). That night Sierra had a 5 year class reunion. It lasted about an hour. Good for us that way we got to hang out.

Over all we had a wonderful time. Denali had a hard time being home. He wanted everyone to look at him. I guess he is just going to have to wait for his siblings to come. (might be a few years)
