LOOK what I can do

Denali had his one year check up here are his stats.
Weight: 20lbs 12oz 39%
Height: 30.5in 74%
Head 18.4in 58%

My doctor ask if he can stand on his own or lean up on things and stand. At that time I did not know. The Doctor put him down and he stood against the counter. WOW!! He told me that I should put him down more so I don't have to hold him his whole life. The funny thing is when we were at my parents my dad kept telling me to put Denali down. I have been much better about putting him down. It about kills me but I have. He can now really crawl and pull himself up on things. He is getting too big.
Denali hates when his hand get dirty or when thing are on his hands. At the doctors they had to take blood, so they wrapped his hand after. Oh, he hated it. That was worst then taking the blood.
We have discovered the parks. Denali loves to slide. He wants to go down face first (the same way he tries to go down the stairs.) He does not like to sit up since he cannot keep his balance and always hits his head. He also loves to swing. I was not sure that he was liking the swing till I tried to take him out and he cried. The playground is hard since he cannot do it on his own, but mom has just as mush fun. Denali is really good at going up the stairs but not so good at going down. One day as I was cleaning his room he went right to the stairs, I ran out of the room just as he was starting down. I super maned it down the stairs. I caught him about half way down. He was more scared then hurt, but now he gives the top of the stairs a wide birth.
His new thing is he loves to help mom cook. That is he wants to put his hands into anything I am making. It is easier just to have him play in something till I am done then clean it all up at once.  my life Motto, "Don't get mad, take a picture."
I LOVE being a mom, it is the greatest blessing in my life. My life is not perfect but if I ever need a smile I just look at the wonderful son that God blessed me with. He is my joy. Greg told me once that it is nice to come home to see me but he looks forward to playing with Denali. I understand, Perfect is perfect.

  1. I love that quote. It's good advice when working with kids. after all someday no one will be around to play in the mayo, toilet paper or clean clothes.
