I was terrified to go into labor for more than one reason. The biggest reason was I just knew I would go into labor when Greg was at work. Therefore my doctor was willing to put me on the scheduling list for the 14th. One week before my due date. How scheduling works, the hospital will call you between 5am and 7am and give you a time to come in. The hospital called me the day before and told me since I was towards the bottom of the list they would call in the morning, it might not be till 7am and they try to get everyone in by 10am. I was thinking great they will call about the time Denali gets up and have us come in about 9:30. I will have time to get things done. What you think and what is reality never works out.
My mom got to my house about 10pm the night before. The hospital called at 5:30am and asked if we could be there at 6:45am, YES! We got packed and headed out. I am not one that likes taking pictures of me when I am pregnant. This was right before we left for the hospital.
Once we got to the hospital it actually took us awhile to get checked in. One thing I thought was funny was when we were getting checked in the nurse asked me who my doctor was. I told her Dr. Nance and she said of course. She said that most of the women on Wednesday that have babies scheduled in Provo or Dr. Nance's. In the room I thought it was so funny that even the beds were for the pregnant people. My mom did my hair in her cool new zipper braid. It was kind of hard to do since by the time she came I had already had my epidural in. She had stayed with Denali till about 11 then she had dropped him off at my cousin's house.
I waited a little longer to get the epidural this time since I kind of wanted to feel labor. WHY does anyone give birth without drugs is beyond me. I was only to like a 4 and wanted to die. The nurse came in about 1:30 and checked me. She said that we were getting close but she would come back in about 1 hour and check me. Greg had not ate all day so my mom talked him into running down to the cafeteria with her and getting lunch. I must note Greg did not want to leave because he said that I would be having this baby soon. The Doctor came in about 10 min after they left and checked me. He said that the baby was coming. He would not have me push until I called Greg and my mom. The time stamp on my phone was 1:55 when I called. Then got to the Room at 2:00. Colvin Lee Proctor was born at 2:05. I pushed a total of 5 time. When they first put him on the scale it read 6.3, my mom asked them to re-weigh him. Then it came up 7.3 and 20 inch long.
(I took a page from Sierra's blogging type. I have put more graphic pictures and video of the birth, My mom took the video and she did a great job. I think this is so cool)

Colvin was right on the line for jaundice so we had to go back to the hospital on Sunday to get retested. The 2nd time he was 12.0 and they wanted him to be lower than12.0 so at his five day appointment he had to be retested again and this time he was good.
*A funny thing to note in the nursery there was a baby next to Colvin that was about a pound bigger (but a pound looks like a lot) my mom said there was a string bean and a marshmallow I had the string bean.

I am so jealous of the birth video they wouldn't let me take one of axel or i would have. that's soooooooo coooooool.
