April

The big news for April is we started Denali in Big Boy underwear. I just knew that we would have about 2 month of calm. The first week was ruff but thanks to Greg being home we are doing great most of the time. Still working on the pooping but we will get there.
This month was just fun little things. I got to go see my cousin baby Arick.
The summer starts when the drive-in opens. I hope this year they will have fun movies. The kids had so much fun. Denali would not fall asleep till after the movie. Sugar and caffeine keep him awake. The drive-in makes me think of when I was a little kid. So many fun memories.
EASTER: I got the boys matching shirts so of course we had to do a photo shoot. Someday we will take more than one good photo out of 100, but for now this is the best and the cutest. You can see Denali teen preview. He does not want to smile.
We went to Tana's for the Easter Egg Hunt AKA the train house. Denali was over excited when we pulled up. He did not even eat. Trains were way too much fun.  It was an adventurer. First Denali pooped in his underwear with out grossing you out lets just say HUGE! Then Colvin does not like anyone but mom he screamed while I cleaned. Denali helped his dad put out the eggs but had fun hunting for them as well. The tramp was fun with no big kids. Colvin was not a fan. We went swimming that night. Colvin needs more exposure and Denali loved it.
For Calvin's Birthday Greg took him to a Jazz game. Gary and Nick came too. They had a great time. Denali was kind of sad that he did not get to go. I guess Greg will just have to go again so sad ;).
Greg and I made a new tradition this year. We are going to do a fun run with each other every year. This year we did the amazing race with the Phillips. It was more like a picture scavenger hunt. We ran with another group of sisters that were so funny. This tradition started because we kind of forgot to say no. However, it was awesome of my cousin to take the boys at the last moment, like the night before.
Amanda invited me to the symphony.  I really enjoyed getting out and the music was pretty. It was so mentally relaxing. MUCH needed brake. Since then I have  be listening to classical music in the house more, it has such a calming effect on the house. The power of music! Funny story; Amanda got locked out (Josh had put his phone on vibrate) so Greg and I tired to help her brake in. Could not do it, we know her house is secure.
Denali went to the dentist and did SOOO great. They even got x-rays. We have been practicing dentist and I think it really helped. His teeth look Great.
FUN:On Wednesday and Friday Hang Time does $2 kid deals. The foam pits were so fun and harder to get out of then you would of thought. Denali had no fear he jump right on but I had to jump in to get him out.  Then there were 3 rooms of just tramps. I feel a date night coming on. Drex came over to play, Denali and him were, "The Fast and The Cute"  Denali for his b-day got a bike we are practicing so we can go on a family bike ride. (he insisted on his helmet) it is big for him because it fits me.  Colvin is good in the bike trailer IF we are moving and IF he has his bottle.
CAT: I am NOT a cat person. This cat is not helping matters. She is bipolar, she will be sitting on your lap all nice then reach up and bite you. Or you will be holding her and she will freak out. That is is what she did to Greg hands when he was holding her. Greg says she just has PMS. For some reason she loves Colvin, if I do not check his room before putting him to bed this is what we get every time.
Being a parent is so much fun. You have your highs and your lows. The small things are what bring you the most joy, Reading to your kids even if you read the book 5 times in 5min. Watching your kids take a bath in the sink so they can watch TV in the tub. Enjoying the min. of peace you get when they are actually playing and don't need you. All the smiles, hugs and kissing you receive or still through the day. Denali likes being a cat and licks, Colvin likes to bite your chin. Most of all the small/big moments like when Colvin pulls himself up and attempts to walk. LIFE IS WONDERFUL!

**We had our first Skype Family Home Evening. (thanks to an ensign articular) I hosted it. There were ups and downs. Greg put both boys to beds before it was done. However, I am so glad that I have my eternal family.
