February

February was a month of learning. We learned that Greg is a very important Man figure in Sonya’s kids life. Tink asked if he would be her daddy for a cowgirl themed daddy daughter date. They ended up having a lot of fun.
We learned that presents or the prospects of a present will help Denali sleep in his OWN bed all night. We went to the dollar store and picked out presents. He picked out balls. It only took him about 2 weeks but he earned then all.
We are very good at going to the doctor. Once for Colvin’s ears. Then again for a really bad cough and colds. Colvin did not have an ear infection BUT his right tub is coming out, there was wax blocking it from draining. Just had to put drops in his ears. EVERYONE (extended family) got sick after Maces baby blessing.  The boys were not getting over their coughs and with everything that happen it was better to get them checked out. The doctor gave them a hormone to drink. Greg and I should have done the same thing.  Colvin is 26lbs 3oz Denali is 34lbs.
I learned that the lords cares about everything. Even trying to pack getting ready for a baby blessing. All you have to do is ask, and boys were so good why I packed. Mace is so cute! Colvin loved holding him. Denali did not really care. He just wanted to play. It took the cousin a day or two (about that time to go home) to become friends. They did a lot of playing, fighting and watching movies. Denali is a big brother to the core. Ax and Denali were fighting over something I was watching them work it out. Then Colvin come and Ax pushed Colvin, Denali got a look of I am going to kill you on his face, I starting running (all this happened in a matter of a few sec), I got there just in time for Denali to hit Ax. I grabbed Denali and was talking to him about being nice. He was trying to explain that Ax was being mean to B, in the middle of this Colvin came and Denali totally pushed him down with not even blinking. I had to just shake my head. Denali was getting in trouble for defining his brother from getting pushed but if he pushed it was ok. We went to very hot swimming pool. It was really fun and Denali loved the HOTTEST water. When we were getting out Colvin was screaming so loud that a staff member came to make sure all was ok. When we got back to Sierra’s Trujillo and Charlotte surprised us by being there.  The next morning was the blessing. Typical my boys had sleep horrible the whole time and was up every morning by 7. Sunday the day we had to wake up they sleep in.  The blessing was wonderful, I love seeing the power of the priesthood in action. Dad gave the last testimony about why families are important. All the girls in the family were crying.
Then the month went to H377 in a hand basket!!
Made crapes at Sonya's one night to help, I  put myself in charge of food for  family emergencies.  On a side note I made the best turkey I have every eaten. Greg did not have to even cut it, it just fell off the bone. Ok back to crapes, Denali ate 10. I guess he likes crapes.
I took Denali and Drex to story time, after all the craziness it was kind of nice to do something normal. Also, I had been away from my boys a lot. There are times that Boys just need their mom. I love snuggling them.
For Valentine we really did not do anything. That was the last day Greg's mom came out of her room. We told everyone we love them. LOVE it what it is all about.
The Sunday after we laid Rohnda to rest, at church they gave Denali a hug. He wanted to make sure that papa got a hug because he missed Nama. We were trying to explain that Grandma went to see Jesus. When we left Sonya's on Sunday Denali asked when he could go see Nama and Jesus.  Before we knew what to say he said not tonight but soon. We said not too soon.
Some funny things did happen too: I cleaned out the litter box and forgot to put the top back on. Denali and Colvin had SOO much fun shoveling kitty litter, ALL over the upstairs. A picture did not tell the whole story. I Skype Sierra and McCarty to laugh with them . Mom said what goes around comes around. She had to remind me; when Sierra was 5 and I was 7 we played in a 25lbs bag of flour. We knew we were going to be in trouble, so we tried to clean it up with water. Mom ended up getting new carpet in the kitchen. It took Greg and I about an hour to vacuum it up. I will be vacuuming kitty litter for Months.  The kids get into everything but I love them more every day.
I made shovels for every family. The kids had fun playing in the snow at the cemetery. They loved playing with the snow for the next few days at our house and at Grandpas. My kids were sad when the snow was gone. They had to skype McCarty to ask for snow. She was ok sharing.
We have been able to spend a lot of time with family. During the viewing I did not have my boys but I got to play with another nephew. I finally got to take Drex and Greg to Hang Time. Greg now understand why I love it so much. It took Drex a while to get brave but the longer we were there the braver he became. Greg just thought it was cute to watch the kids.
I had a girls night at my house. It ended up only being the Olson’s. We stayed up till really late watching Just dance. It was for two fold; One I needed babysitters and two I knew the girls needed to do something fun, and get their mind off all the craziness.
Tender mercies;
I have been wanting to take the boys to the Provo City Center Temple open house. We had tickets twice and both times it fell through. Mom and Dad had tickets for the Saturday of the funeral. Greg the boys and I decided to go with them. It was the perfect ending to a not so perfect week.
My cousin Daniel went through the temple. Greg and I were rushing to try and make it. When we got in temple the front desk told us we could not make his session. As I got my name the lady asked me if I had just asked her about the session. NO, then I stopped and guess who it was, Timber. Greg, Timber and I ended up going to the same session. We got to meet everyone after since our session was smaller than theirs. It all worked out.
Denali FINALLY went to ALL of sunbeams. He wanted no shoes and to ware my necklace, DONE! If I have to go with him, shoes go on and necklace comes off, Inspiration!
Greg’s family finally got his grandma to move into a home. Greg spend most of the day moving her. She was not too happy but knows it is for the best.
