They say if you write down a goal you are more likely to achieve
it. For me if I write it in my journal then my blog, I am more likely to
remember it. Syringa's Goals for 2020: I want to enjoy my kids; they are
all getting so big so fast. Do Come Follow Me with the kids. Let us see how I
do! With the beginning of the year, it is also a time to reflect. On
the family text the question was "what is something romantic your husband
does," Greg gets the boys dressed on Sunday when he is home. It gives me
time to primp. Talking about Sundays, Greg did a first; he took the boys
to church by himself and taught the lesson in primary by himself.
Not only new beginning but new things. I got a new vacuum (I
just exchange my canister for an upright, they did not even question my return.
I guess I did a good taking care of it.) A new toaster (I have had my old one
since high school) New Crape maker, (boys were overjoyed) A new Diaper bag (got
the biggest bag I could find) Greg actually shopped for it.
Denali
started activity days and loves it. He also started the new youth program. He
had to made two goals. One was getting a new belt in Karate. His 2nd goal:
Remember a person name and talk to them at school. He was so proud when he
fulfilled his "talking" goal; “Mom the kids name was Angle, and this
was our conversation." "Denali have you seen Colby C." and mom I
said, "Nope". Progress! :)
Colvin has NEVER been a good night sleeper, but on average he
still takes a nap about once a week. His goal was to have free free time
(screen time) every day.
Azalyn just is enjoying life. We put up a baby swing and it was
love at first push.
Timbers family really wanted to go on the train. Again, I am not
sure why we love the train it is always a disaster. First Ace had to meet us at
the train station and made it just in time. Then the ticket booth was not working
(we went back and forth a few times till we found someone). Then on the way
home Timber lost her purse (it has multiple credit cards and Denali's kindle)
The train was late coming home, we got home extra late and a little stressed,
but memories to talk about. We spend most of the time at the family history
center taking pictures.
The reason Timber came down was for Denim's dance competition.
Greg watched kids and I got to go watch Dance. It was so fun to watch and be
with Timbers. Brought back so many memories.
TMI: Timber and Sierra have talked about a menstrual cup for the
last 2+ years. I finally made the switch. I bought a Super Jenny. There is a
learning curve, be, prepared. I knew nothing about my southern part. YouTube!
Enjoying my kids means doing things with them: I took them
sledding snow was melting but enough to have fun. Nickel Mania is a favorite
fun zone. We always get tons of extra tickets because we are willing to wait
for games to get refilled and reloaded.
Happy mom
moment: Come Follow Me is Book of Mormon for 2020 We watch a movie, or I tell
them a story in the morning. For Family Home Evening Denali, on his own, acted
out the Nephi brass plate story. The boys do listen. I made a bra sale
thank to Greg it was a co-worker.
We also started the boys in Karate they have been begging
for a LONG time. It was like Christmas the first night of Karate. Just more
running for Mom. Poor Azalyn gets to stay at the Dojo for about 2 hours. We
have to practice at home, but the improvement is crazy. The video (for blog not
book) is their first jumping jack. (for book it is just up and down jumping no
rhythm)
We have been trying to have more one-on-one time with the boys.
Greg took Denali to Star Wars. I had a movie night with Colvin. There is always
a story: He wanted caramel popcorn, had to run to Walmart. Then the TV was not
working downstairs, had to watch the movie in moms room Made it more
memorable.
Other stories: I stopped pumping at 5PM and it was life changing.
Not having to rushing dinner. Every day after school I have a job for the kids.
One day it was picking up dog poop. It almost killed Colvin. He has a sensitive
noise (can be good and bad). Mom and Sierra came down for state dance. We lived
a miracle; They wanted to see Dance and Karate, prayed, and made both. Dance
stopped for 20 min and they made it. With everyone here the hoverboards were a
hit. Mom took the biggest crash in the living room. We took everyone
swimming. We had a great laugh playing "Awkward Family Photos"
Good time HAD by all.
Thoughts:
A moment last all of a second but the memory lives on forever!
