April

April Fool is no fun when you are living it. Trujillo summed it up perfect: Hey Family,
 Guess what!!!???
·        There isn’t a world-wide pandemic.
·        There aren’t earthquakes all over Utah and Idaho.
·        We don’t have a high-risk pregnancy.
·        Everybody’s health, work, life, and sanity are totally safe and fine…
 Just kidding! April fools! Gottcha!
Denali’s teacher did drop off a little Easter treat, but she did not even ring the doorbell just left it on the front step.
Ok let us talk working from home. There is a learning curve for all. There are two schedules and two workplaces to mesh, (like a marriage) BUT I love it because we have a Greg and Dad back. He is happy and will even suggest thing to do after work. The kids can go see him whenever they want. Denali and Colvin both take turns reading with their dad. The hard is worth. He has only had to the reward. He has only had to go into the office once since March.
The boys have begged to do a fire pit, but it is still cold. We have a fire in hoodies.
Miss had her 15-month checkup. Weight 21lbs 58% height: 30in 57% head 18in 72% she is our perfect pipsqueak. She has no fear. We hooked the dog up to her red truck and the dog can make Azalyn fly. She loves it. She can do anything her brothers do and that includes hover-boarding. She is like a monkey can cling on and on. I guess practice does pay off. She is always into something. She has a pera-bruise on her head. In one day, she got a tramp burn from brothers and black eye from falling on chalk. There are some cute things; I let the boys play in nail polish and she wanted to be with us. I pained her toes red. She loved her pretty toes.  However, she also loves the water and dirt. Mud is the best invention EVER!
The boys have been trying out new sleeping areas. Greg and I bet how long they will last. They started out with the Front Room and lasted 9 min 50 sec. I won because I said they would last less than 10 min. Being stuck together we have time to do family surveys. The answers are so cute, (SEE below). The kids have gotten creative with things to do. They wanted to do a nailed it challenge. I made the cupcake and frosting; dad came down to decorate and the kids were the judges. I won because I put on more sprinkles. Let us talk school, Denali would be the best online student. He gets his list and just goes with it. Colvin need to be reminded. (he gets distracted) My kids are not dumb the boys have learned fast that if they are outside, I do not make them clean. I tried something new: I cut their hair and cut out a lightning bolt in their hair. Colvin was my guinea pig; they both hold very still.
Conference: Last Oct they said that conference would be totally different. That was a prophecy. First, they were NOT in the conference center. Only 10 people in the room at a time, needless to say no Audience. All music was pre-recorded.  It was all about getting back to the basic, do you believe in Joseph Smith then what else matters. God knows we are trying. (that was a big one for me, I am been trying to get back to the temple and have been stopped at every turn. He knows my heart) With Temples being closed they talked about indexing. I started indexing/reviewing 5 batches a day. I have missed the feeling it brings into the home. They issued a new proclamation (see below). Now I have to pat myself on the back, I am trying to see the good I do do. I bought tons of candy (I let the kids tell me what candy they wanted) Each candy was worth a different word count. Example: Jellybeans- One-word, Starburst, and hi-chews - 5 words. Then the kids had to listen to conference, and each talk we gave them a new word (Jesus and Christ were a given on every talk) they had to keep count of how many times they heard the given word to earn candy. Not only did they listen but they we so excited for conference (I bought the candy a few days before and sat it on the counter) They yelled candy day, Saturday morning.
Now church: https://www.theredcrystal.org/ Is the best for help with "primary". I did a secret acts of kindness lesson and the boys jumped on it. It was so fun to "catch" them throughout the week.
With conference I have been trying to follow thought (promptings) I have. Timber was coming and we were going to do a fire. I thought I am going to put in a ham just in case. When Timber got here it was raining, and I did not panic, I had a ham ready. Why Timber was here we got to color Easter eggs. Huge traditions in my family being passed on. With Timber we were going to hike to the hot pots, but they were closed. We just played in the river. Blazen became a mud monster. (then got really sick a few days later). The end of the 24-hr. run with Timber was Trolls 2 at the drive-in.  The boys loved the music. Colvin said Rock-n-Roll is his favorite.
Ask and you shall receive. I needed LOTS more cardboard for our pool. Facebook and neighbors came through. Greg thought I was crazy, but the end result was perfect. We needed a little more cardboard (took more than I predicted) but our pool is 99% better than last year. It was a family effort. I moved the tramp by the pool so the boys, and me, can jump in. SOO FUN! Greg always wanted our house to be the "fun" house. We have the pool and got 2 sand boxes.  Outside this year was little things. (inside is our main focus more to come) I finally used the planter boxes. Out front we planted some flowers. The boys had lots of fun picking out flowers. I think it was because we let them go to Lows. First time out in 2+weeks.
Just some fun things: Denali got his yellow belt. (Colvin got his, but the belts were on back order)
BIG FAMILY NEWS: Trujillo and Charlotte had their baby. We cannot wait to meet here (we hope this fall) There were a few hours of scare, but all looks good now.
You cannot do everything on Zoom, we had a book club meeting, and it was a 5 out of 10. I cannot wait to get back together in person.
Heartwarming story: Denali had to read a story about at a caterpillar that had no friends. Then at the end he found a friend. Denali had to write a story about when he felt like the caterpillar. He said mom, “I never have been the caterpillar because I have my Brother Colvin, who is always my best friend" I said well what about when you are at school, he said, "mom there are kids all over all I have to do is ask to play"
Thought: Friends will come and go but family will always stay.

The Restoration of the Fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ
A Bicentennial Proclamation to the World
The First Presidency and Council of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
This proclamation was read by President Russell M. Nelson as part of his message at the 190th Annual General Conference, April 5, 2020, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
We solemnly proclaim that God loves His children in every nation of the world. God the Father has given us the divine birth, the incomparable life, and the infinite atoning sacrifice of His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ. By the power of the Father, Jesus rose again and gained the victory over death. He is our Savior, our Exemplar, and our Redeemer. Two hundred years ago, on a beautiful spring morning in 1820, young Joseph Smith, seeking to know which church to join, went into the woods to pray near his home in upstate New York, USA. He had questions regarding the salvation of his soul and trusted that God would direct him. In humility, we declare that in answer to his prayer, God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, appeared to Joseph and inaugurated the “restitution of all things” (Acts 3:21) as foretold in the Bible. In this vision, he learned that following the death of the original Apostles, Christ’s New Testament Church was lost from the earth. Joseph would be instrumental in its return. We affirm that under the direction of the Father and the Son, heavenly messengers came to instruct Joseph and re-establish the Church of Jesus Christ. The resurrected John the Baptist restored the authority to baptize by immersion for the remission of sins. Three of the original twelve ApostlesPeter, James, and Johnrestored the apostleship and keys of priesthood authority. Others came as well, including Elijah, who restored the authority to join families together forever in eternal relationships that transcend death. We further witness that Joseph Smith was given the gift and power of God to translate an ancient record: The Book of MormonAnother Testament of Jesus Christ. Pages of this sacred text include an account of the personal ministry of Jesus Christ among people in the Western Hemisphere soon after His Resurrection. It teaches of life’s purpose and explains the doctrine of Christ, which is central to that purpose. As a companion scripture to the Bible, the Book of Mormon testifies that all human beings are sons and daughters of a loving Father in Heaven, that He has a divine plan for our lives, and that His Son, Jesus Christ, speaks today as well as in days of old. We declare that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, organized on April 6, 1830, is Christ’s New Testament Church restored. This Church is anchored in the perfect life of its chief cornerstone, Jesus Christ, and in His infinite Atonement and literal Resurrection. Jesus Christ has once again called Apostles and has given them priesthood authority. He invites all of us to come unto Him and His Church, to receive the Holy Ghost, the ordinances of salvation, and to gain enduring joy. Two hundred years have now elapsed since this Restoration was initiated by God the Father and His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ. Millions throughout the world have embraced a knowledge of these prophesied events. We gladly declare that the promised Restoration goes forward through continuing revelation. The earth will never again be the same, as God will “gather together in one all things in Christ” (Ephesians 1:10).With reverence and gratitude, we as His Apostles invite all to knowas we dothat the heavens are open. We affirm that God is making known His will for His beloved sons and daughters. We testify that those who prayerfully study the message of the Restoration and act in faith will be blessed to gain their own witness of its divinity and of its purpose to prepare the world for the promised Second Coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
