Christmas

By the time we were headed to moms I was kind of ready for the Holidays to be over. However, once we got on the road my stress started to melt away with the miles. With all the kids having movies the drive was wonderful. I got to listen to a whole book.
We stopped at the Kelly’s for about 15min that turned into 30. Almost lost snuggles, surprisingly enough the boys were sad about that. Then on to the main event. Not to kill the magic but Santa dropped off a present to the wrong house. Mom and Dad had to make a midnight run. I stayed up with McCarty till about 2. Denali was our Santa tracker, he tracked him till bedtime.
Hatfield's and Proctor's were the only families there for Christmas morning. However, everyone but Timber showed up during the week. Christmas morning came ridiculously early, Azalyn woke up at 4am and would not go back to sleep. I sleep on the couch with her till about 7, when the rest of the kids got up. Santa brought Denali a Guitar, Colvin a keyboard, and Azalyn a scooter. All the kid’s blankets were a hit.
Colvin was the one that could not wait to unwrap anything. He was not going to wait for anyone or watch anyone. Here are some best gifts. We got the Wii game of DK; I have some great childhood memories of playing DK. I am so glad I get to pass that on to my kids.  Greg got the complete blue ray set of Harry Potter and The Big Bang Theory. Syringa got a hand blended she watched Greg take back (he had bought 2) she got a wheat grinder and air pods. She received a very heartwarming gift; after 30 years mom made me a new Syringa sweater. Mine was cut off when I broke my arm at 4. Yes, I cried and no it does not fit. Denali got games and did not put down his guitar. Colvin got PJS and did not unwrap from his blanket. Azalyn got a purse and neckless. She also got a stroller that all the girls fought over. We all got Pen State shirts, WE ARE....PENN STATE.
Kelly’s came Christmas night. We make hot chocolate bombs. We are not chocolatiers, but we had fun. The Amy’s came on the 26th. It was fun to be with them. We did a $5 white elephant exchange, so fun to see all the crazy gifts.
We had such a good time with TOO much candy and food. Sierra had brought stuff for Italy Sodas and I had to try each combo. We forced mom to learn Pandemic, my sisters are so competitive. (we did not have to force too hard).
All the guys went and helped Dad on the Arco house. Sierra and I had the kids. We found Z in the tube with the water running, the drain not closed, fully clothed sucking on conditioner. We took all the kids on a walk. Baler could not keep up with the older kids. We told him he was our protector and man did he take that job serious. Mom and Sisters also watched my kids, I was able to do my nails. Late Christmas early birthday present.
Greg had to work one day; he went to the Kelly’s. The women and kids went to Bourns. Azalyn wanted her life jacket off ASAP but she was ok to go under, so it worked out.
It was great time, with fighting and laughter. However, we were ready to go home. Azalyn was a horrible sleeper like the boys were better than her (that is saying something since Colvin only earned $2 the whole week). I love all the memories we were able to create.
