Getting settled
always brings big changes. Just keep repeating " I will not get over
welled"
We got to meet animal
control. They are really nice, they would have just dropped snuggles off had
her address been updated. We went around and met most of our neighbors. I made
neighbor gifs. I did a whisk with candy that had a note, " we just whisked
into the neighborhood." There are about 20 homes in our little
circle. There are maybe 5 permanent neighbors. One military home that people
move in and out. One home that the daughter comes back and forth when her
parents are gone. My kids love having the 2 cul-de-sacs to themselves.
School: Denali liked it.
He thought it was kind of cool to be
back in a normal school. His teacher was so sweet and made him a year
book. Colvin did not do well at all. He said that his teacher was not
nice. It was that they did not have time to get to know each other’s
personality. He said that the kids were mean. He is too much like me and cannot
assert himself. I just pulled him, and we did homeschool. Blessing next year
they did get into a charter school. It worked out great because mom was super busy and Colvin loves to play with his sister. The boys are great to and with their sister. The one thing Colvin did love was that they
got to ride a bus. However, the first day of drop off was not great. First, I
went to the wrong drop off location. Way early with the dog and Azalyn. Since I
was really early, I freaked out a little that I was late. Called Greg asking if
the boys were home since I could not find them. That got him scared and he went
to find us, about that time another parent came to the stop and said we were
about 10 min early. My phone had died right after I talked to Greg, I could not
call him back to say everything was ok. He
was not happy when he found us walking home, he was just scared. We did get it
worked out for the next 3 times they rode the bus.
Scary story: Azalyn and
I were going to have a big errand day. On the way to our 2nd errand my back
driver window shattered. I was just really glad that Azalyn was not hurt. We
came home and was grounded for the next week. First, the tech they had to come
out realized he could not do a sliding door on his own in my drive way. He came
a day late, to install crash wrap. The crash wrap came half way off as we were
driving. I then went to the wrong
location for my first appointment. We finally did get it fixed. Colvin was sad
that he lost his whole sticker collection.
We got our new couch and
rug. The kids love to push the buttons that move the feet rest. The rug is so
soft and plush. It came with a stain, but really would it be a HOME if
something was perfect? I want to personalize our house. I have been painting. I
learned how to tape. A happy accident turned into a blessing. I was painting my
kitchen but could not reach over the cabinets. I painted the other half of the
kitchen and LOVED it. However, I know I would NOT of loved the whole kitchen
the deep purple color. I also painted the downstairs bathroom. I did
"O" Azalyn was my helper. It turned out a little over welling, but it
is so fun. Azalyn LOVED it the boys thought it was cool. Greg got his new
grill it really does look so pretty. Something funny: we could see that power
was being pulled to the grill area, but we could not find it. We had the inspector,
a general contractor and electrician come, none of them could find why power
was not working. As Greg was Swimming, he spotted a GFI, under the counter. He
got out pushed it and power came on. For an early anniversary present Greg got
me knew pans. I have had mind since college, and they were my mom’s old ones.
Greg got the family a huge standing popcorn popper. We have ate pounds and pounds
of popcorn. I undid our lost "move" box (I still have picture boxes)
We have been discovering Surprise. We were able to get library cards. All the libraries
in the county are connected. I hope this summer we can checked others out. This
summer I really want to put the kids into swim lesson. We did a swim Test.
Azalyn would not even get in the water, "too cold". We went shopping
at WinCo. The kids thought it was Santa’s work shop with all the candy bids. We
have been using our pogo passes. We went to a jumping place. We all had a great
time. There was a climbing wall the boys wanted to do ASAP. Azalyn watched a
few times then wanted to try. She was just climbing and not really paying attention
and got almost to the top. The guy said she is not going to jump, and I said oh
she will jump if she saw her brothers do it. YEP, she jumped down.
I participated in the
neatest Relief Society activity. We were blind folded then there was a whole
program about the savior. They brought around objects to touch and smell. Like: a baby doll, cold water to dip your hands
into, and a nail. It was super powerful.
We had 2 weeks before
Greg started his last semester. We took a fast weekend trip to New Mexico
during Mother’s Day. On the way there we were trying to do a little come follow
me. We asked each family member what makes them special for our family. Dad he
can take all the pickup. Mom is the glue I hold us together. Denali is helpful
he loves. Colvin is brave he protects. Azalyn pipes up with I am Queen.
Everyone agreed. Only when I was telling Timber she was not happy we did not
have a crown for her. Timber took us on a hike to see her property. It is a rugged
beauty. My boys did not think the hike was all that great. Colvin was disappointed
he did not see a mountain lion. Denali said we went way to far (we went like a ½
a mile round trip). Azalyn was find since Greg packed her most of the time. The
cousins just played and played. Darlin taught Azalyn the power of a tea party.
A girl will be a girl.
Since it was Mother’s Day,
I had bought Timber a cactus plant. Then I left it on my kitchen counter. She
had bought me flowers that survived Utah to New Mexico then New Mexico to
Arizona. The kids at church colored each lady in Relief Society a pictures. We
went to Aces Moms for dinner. He cooked stake. On the way home Greg stopped at maverick
for me. Best Mother’s Day gift ever. Coke slushie with sweet cream. We
tried a QT but still not a maverick.
Just home: The boys had
activity days they had a good time. Greg got to help, that was a highlight for
them. There are some projects that take way longer than expected. I was working
on one of those longer than expected project. I said I was "ped" off.
Then Azalyn said mom you mad at the "ped" door. Watch what you say. I
organized our garage. We want to be able to park in it this summer. Dad said do
the big jobs and the little jobs will take care of themselves. Since we
moved here Greg said that we needed a smaller tramp. One day I decided to move
the tramp. Did not go well, first I fell in the pool with my phone (phone is
not working now) then it did not fit in the new space. We ended up taking down
the tramp. When I have one of "those" days the best medication is;
Jump in the pool with music. I also had to learn the hard way. I CANNOT do it
all on my own. Fall on your knees.
Stories: See Colvin’s
bday blog. He got a phone, fun to see life through his lens. He slept with dad on the tramp. Denali, Azalyn and Mom slept in her
bed. I got peeved on so memories. We love doing DIY projects. The kids painted their bike and wiggle car. Turned out so them. I had read
on line how to fix outside umbrellas. I just knew I could do it on 2 of ours.
Translation 3 days of tears Greg telling me to give up, me talking like a sailor
at my sowing machine. Finally throwing one away, fixing one and buying one on
Amazon. Denali was inspired by Axel and Grandma to figure out the Rubik’s cube.
He can do the 2x2 he wants to be the fastest. Our realtor stopped by and
dropped off a house warming gift. It was so sweet and nice to see her again. Azalyn
came up to my room one morning with blood all over her mouth. After I got her
cleaned up, she had a cut on her lip. I asked her what happen, she did not
know. When I went down stairs there was blood on her paper scissors. Yes, she
knew what happen she had been sucking on her scissors and snip. Exposure is key
when it comes to water. My kids are in the pool everyday. The very few days we have been busy is the "worst day ever" Colvin used a life vest for about a week. Azalyn still
has a life vest most of the time, but she watches the boys and wants to be big.
She can now swim a short distance on her own. Then she will lay on the tramp and tan. I hope she gets some color other an red this summer. Blessing; one day I was outside
fixing the umbrella. I heard, "help me" I looked over and Azalyn had
fallen in. I jumped in and grabbed her. I know an angel yelled at me there was
no way she could of or did yell. We have started to play the x-box again. We
play lovers in a dangerous space time. We are WAY better this time.
Ralayna and Spencer both
graduated from high school. That made me feel so old with Ralayna since I was
there and remember the day she was born. I cannot wait to see were life takes
both of those kids. Life is a roller coaster hold on.
