A 4 hrs. drive is
nothing for my kids. However, we still filled up the car.
Azalyn wanted to make
sure we had a memorable start. She crouped the night before we left. Our downstairs
bathroom works wonders.
They did not have the
right rooms ready when we got there. We made very small rooms work for one
night. We are at a different location
this year. There was good and bad: I loved that our front door opened to a balcony
and not a hallway, I loved that it was much smaller so WAY less people.. Bad:
there was no playroom and no craft time. The rooms were a little smaller. The
hot tub worked so it was a win.
Since there was no craft
room, we had to make our own. (That is Colvin’s favorite part of Vegas) I
bought stuff for rubber band bracelets, and sun catchers. Another friend
brought beads for bead pets and jewelry.
One thing my kids love
doing is going to the hot tub late. They thought they were so big. Then they
would jump back and forth from the hot tub to the cold pool.
Azalyn loved playing
with Hadley, however they both were not sure what to do with someone their
size. Colvin and Denali still made tons of memories with the brown blankie
club.
One night Greg played a
big game with the men. Azalyn only wanted to have daddy snuggle her. Everyone
cheered when he came in (the big winner) so that daddy could put Azalyn to
bed.
For Taco dinner I bought
cookie dough. I was not sure if Drex and Jorden could have the cake. Hot
cookies were a hit. I made cookies for about 2 hours. People were eating them
before they were even on a plate. I got to talk to the college students, since
I was stuck in the kitchen. I did get one cookie at the very end. We are in old
downtown Vegas. We are by 2 adult stores. Greg and I wanted to go and pick out Christmas
presents. I was telling that to the other women and they said they joked about
going in. They could not even talk about it without giggling and blushing. I
felt so chocolate.
Jaden brought her baby
and let me hold him. Azalyn was actually ok with it. She was telling everyone
SHHH the baby was sleeping. I love making teenage boys hold babies. Spencer
will be a great dad someday. I got
to meet significant others, I really hate how big everyone is getting.
We went to the strip one
day and WOW so much is closed. We did not get to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe but we did get a pictures of the 1st largest guitar. All the kids wanted shirts this year. We went to
a pinball place, but it was not set up for families. Azalyn got yelled at for
skipping and playing a game. There were signs all, "use inside
voices" on air hockey? Ya right. We did get to go to our annul chocolate factory. Still did not get to see anyone work. Does anyone work there?
Bad mom moments. One
night I put Azalyn to bed and thought I had shut off the TV. Around 12 when I
put the boys to bed, they said mom why is Peppa Pig playing? I went into my
room and Azalyn was still up watching Peppa Pig. One night we went to
dinner and Azalyn slept the whole time. She Woke up just as we got back to the
Hotel to play.
We did go to Maverik a
few times.
Yes, there is always
family drama. However, we had a great relaxing time, so it all worked out. I
read too many books and mostly ignored my kids.
