Family Christmas Party

December started off CRAZY! It was the Amy's year for Christmas so we had an early party (cheaper flights and a little better roads).  All the sisters have the same shirt: IT's Fine I am Fine! Our Theme! Trujillo’s family was unable to make it they were missed.  

We had a week of fun, memories, fighting, laughing and hugs. There is no way I could put it all in, I hope you can get the warm Christmas feel with highlights and pictures. 

Timber was the first to arrive, she did color extensions in my hair. We did pink, blue and purple. 

I have wanted to do the tik tok stair shuffle for years. We finally got it accomplished. Nailed IT!!

 McCarty's family flew in next. I was going to go pick them up from the airport but Azalyn was not feeling Great and needed her mom. (airport story: McCarty was at a different airport than the one Mom and Timber went to first.  Took them about 45 minutes to get together.) Sierra's family drove all night and got here about noon. 

 Hatfield’s do a Grinch Dinner. Everything is Grinch themed. We had Fowl one eggs (green deviled eggs), 39 1/2 feet poles (mozzarella cheese sticks), Stink stank stunk Grinch wraps (green tortilla beef wraps), Mistletoe tonic (lime slushies) Grinch on a stick (fruit shish kabobs), Sea Sick Crocodile crackers (crackers with cream cheese and Jalapeno jelly) Ginchamole (guacamole) Grinch poop (brownies with green frosting) The missing Christmas tree (rice in the shape of a tree) Who hash (not sure but good). 

Fighting: I was strung out. I love it when my family comes but it is a ton of work AND I had sick kids most of the week before. I fought with Sierra. It ended up all working out. I still love her.    Two strong women in a kitchen is just waiting for a fire.  Greg and I had it out. It took us a few days.  Marriage is hard, you cannot take each other for granted no matter what. . 

We went to the Temple to see the lights. The visitor center is so cool.  They have a coloring wall. It was a kids, and adults (if being honest) dream come true, coloring on a wall and not getting in trouble.  Colvin and Denali did not feel good, Satan will do everything in his power to make sure you are NOT happy. 

Mom and Dad left early, Grandma was going down fast and they wanted her home to die. Axel had prayed that he got to see Grandma Afton one more time. He was with her for 2 days. The men went and got ice cream after mom and dad left. 

We had an outside movie, we were lucky to get one in since it rained 90% of the time. Our new speaker works great. Our neighbors called and asked us to turn it down. We are that neighbor. 

I took the family to the White Tank Library so they could "see" Arizona. The wild life center was open. They brought out a snake that we got to touch. On the side of the road there are oranges. (they are for the homeless) we had to stop and get a few.  Even though it was cold the couples could not resist going skinny dipping. It was great just to hear the screaming. (Not the sexy kind).  Most of the kids could not resist either.  Good thing we have HOT water. We did a craft time with all the kids that was a fun crazy mess. Sierra brought a Christmas Minute to win in game for the kids. It was a ball of plastic wrap with toys in it.  Some of the kids did better than other, in the end everyone was happy. 

Then lots of talking talking talking. McCarty got to stay a few extra days Sierra's family went to New Mexico. McCarty taught my kids how to do pan cake art. You put pancake batter in a squeeze bottle then color it. Let the kids go to town. The kids loved it, but it is really messy. It was kind of pay back for sprinkles and whip cream on pancakes. I was able to take McCarty’s crew to the airport, it was along the 202 a fun drive a new drive for me. 

It was exciting when they came. It was bitter sweet when they left. I am going to sleep now!
