April

This month marks the one-year anniversary of living in Arizona. Good times!
Good things:  If I do one thing right as a mom it is conference. My kids call it candy weekend. This year they wanted 2 Big candies (they each got a big candy and a toy) Each item was 200 words. We only had the basic words.   God, Lord, Jesus Christ (or each), Father, Heavenly Father, Savior and amen.  At the end of Saturday morning, they needed 50 more words (to reach their 200 goal). Colvin said come on prophet, ye they got there 50 and a few more. My takeaway was that we should have the same feeling at Easter as we do at Christmas.   Sunday afternoon Greg and I were hashing out life. The boys wanted words, so they went upstairs, turned on the lab top, and played Nintendo.
Soccer has been so fun this year. They are actually learning the game. Colvin scored a few goals and is a great assister. Colvin story: at school he was the hero. He saw a girl get pushed down the slide, so he caught her. He was at the right location at the right time. On Sundays we go to the green space and play. On Easter we had a beautiful 80 degrees, Idaho family send me pictures of snow.
EASTER: It took us 24 hours, but we did find all the eggs.  Each kid in honor of Grandma Proctor received at book. The kids were not happy that they had to go to church before all Eggs were found. I want to feel the magic of Easter.
Azalyn had an Easter egg hunt at preschool. Greg was able to come, and it was so cute. Then we went on an egg hunt for the city.   Each kid had their own group, and each group had a ton of eggs and candy. We had a great time, bounce houses and all.  We followed that up with a trip to Hurricane Harbor.   The night before we went to the Mesa Easter pageant. It was so wonderful to feel that spirit. We let the kids go play at a park on their own before it started. Wow did they feel big. It was a full fun sun filled weekend.
Friends are a huge blessing.  I went to get an oil change. The one hr. estimate turned into 2+. Friends picked up Az from preschool. We also did a first with friends we went to lunch. I could talk all day.
Azalyn had her 4 yr. checkup. She is in the 98%. She was so brave with her 2 shots.
STORY: Colvin had a school concert. We sat down by some friends of ours.  Azalyn and her friends started to play.  She tripped over a chair and cut her chin, because it was a face, she bled all over. I cleaned it up and got a band-aid.  Then we got to watch Colvin. He was so excited and adorable, I love when his fun sweet personality shines through.  He smiled and waved to us throughout the whole thing.  When we got home, I was finally able to really look at Azalyn’s chin.  There was fat coming out. Greg and I took her to an urgent care. She got 3 stitches
A first happen to me.  I am writing about it in case it is just a fluke. My eyes did not change. Timber came and hung out for the day. It was so fun just to talk, the boys were overly excited. She really wanted to go swimming, but it was a little too cold. That has not stopped my kids.  Right now, is the perfect "swimming" time. The water is cold but not freezing. If you swim it feels good. Azalyn LOVES the water, and she does not care how cold it is.
I have been doing a little spring cleaning. I cleaned the rugs and Gross. Cleaning is not for the week.
We got a new treadmill. We need to get in shape and my mental health needs a good kick in the butt.  I have had enough of my sick body. I did a 3-day water fast then started Keto. It has not been long but has not been too hard to tweak cooking for Keto.  My motivation is just feeling better about my body.   It got a jump start with Greg I and Azalyn getting sick.
We ALL (Greg and I helped) at a primary activity. There were tons of mini stations for the kids to do. There was a little boy about 8 that Azalyn thought was fun. He was so good to her (just gentle) On Sunday he said he liked her hair. It was a big deal for Az since she hates doing her hair on Sunday mornings.  On Sundays we started a marriage and family program (a book the church put out) 30 min and the kids think it is torture. Elder Bednar is my hero just a little at a time.
There was a mother and Sons western theme activity. It was harder than I thought to go back into that life. (I think I miss it more than I would ever admit or miss the past) The boys had a great time. We even learned some dances.
Things for me:  I changed my van battery all by myself.
Greg took the boys on a dad date and I took Az. All the kids loved it, just need to "date" them more.
Finally warm enough to do an outside movie. Colvin started in a tube in the pool. Cannot wait to do the whole movie in the pool.
New rules for the kids no free time in the morning till 630 they have been sleeping in till 7. This summer I want to have the boys’ work, I need to stop making life so easy and less TV time. We will see!
