September

We started September strong with a day of 99 nights. I see a lot of life and the gospel symbolism in 99 nights. One, you have to work together in order to really build something great. Some have to stay by the fire, others have to leave.  Then if your fire goes out you are lost same goes with the fire of faith, if it goes out you are lost. Just when you think you are safe people come to attack you, in life never let your faith guard down. The best part is just hanging out with the family.
Church reminder, the church is true the people are not. The lord only has us mortals to work with, so we need to give everyone some grace. Our new family motto is; be consistent. Even if it is late we can read one verse.
I worked at the book fair for a full week and wow I have a whole new appreciation for working moms. There is no way moms do it all. Denali really had to step up and start or finish dinner, everyone had to help clean up so the house would keep standing. It took me a whole week of cleaning to get caught up. During the book fair I was able to see each of my kids. Azalyn just always wanted something. Colvin said hi once and I got a smile from Denali. One of Colvin’s friends said wow you are so pretty.
Yes, you get a weight loss update, the low dose has tapered. However, I am learning self-control, small snacks, and WATER water, I know I have lost inches because I have started to really see how clothing fits me. I have a dress that was tight about 6 mos. ago and now it fits nicely, almost loose. I have lost weight in my feet, shoes are loose or easy to zip up. Celebrate your wins even if they are small.
We had parent teacher conference and there was nothing but great things to say about my kids. Azalyn is in the highest classes for all her subjects. Colvin had the highest math grade out of all the 5th grade. Denali’s teachers just wish they could clone him.  Parent moment: one night I was done, dragon mom came out. Greg when in to snuggle Azalyn she asked why is there one nice parent and one mean parent because we are human. Think about what happens with only one parent, families were designed to have two.
Colvin loves cross country. For his first meet we had to be up and out by 5:30. He was not the hugest fan but as the season when on and he was in better shape he loved it more and more. He loves it when the whole family can go because he gets cheered on more. I have been trying to run with him 2 times a week (The days he does not have practice).
Medical; Colvin and Azalyn got really sick. I took then to the doctor, and they had hand foot and mouth. How does a 11 and 6 year old get that, licking each other? They got over the sick fast but their poor feet. Hand Foot and Mouth is a virus like chicken pocks, the older you are the worse it is. Colvin’s whole foot was one giant blister. He did miss one Cross Country meet. To top it off Colvin was having stomach pains, I think his appendix is doing what mine did, swell go down, over and over till it will pop. Azalyn along with Hand foot and mouth got tonsillitis, I told her she could go to school but no French kissing. When I explained what that was, she said gross why would anyone do that.  They both missed a full week of school. Azalyn was not happy going back to school, Colvin was. I made them deep clean their room since most of it was off there feet, cleaning under their beds.
NEWS: I really try to keep political posts out of my blog, the news sucks. However, I want to put in big events so we can remember them. Charlie Kirk was assassinated on the UVU campus. I hope this is
Gods call to the nation that we need change. That was Sep 10th and then next day Sep 11th the school did not talk about it. We did in our home.
The weather is starting to turn. The kids and I biked to the dollar store. Then they wanted to go get lunch. We rode our bikes to Wendy's. Azalyn was not a fan, Greg happened to be home, he met us for lunch. Azalyn drove back home with dad. Fun memories.
I started a huge new bag project. I am going to weave a mat for our cots out of bags. This is easy but time consuming and you need a big space Plastic bag rug without Crocheting.
I read the book Clan of the Cave Bear, it is my dad’s favorite book. When I was young mom would say this was the worst book, checking it out from the library I felt so adult. I loved it, it was a whole new culture how they thought and lived. It was fascinating.
Greg and I were able to go to lunch with Denali. I love just spending time with my kids. Greg's goal this year is lunch with each kid, one down 2 to go.
I went with Denali to a school project, they made dog toys for a fundraiser. Then we went to a birthday party, Colvin and Denali walked in. I love them becoming young men, but I hate the boys leaving.
This month was the best sacrament meeting of the year. The primary program. This was Colvin’s last one. Here is his talk: I really like the story of Oliver Cowdery. He was a schoolteacher in Joseph Smith’s parents’ home.  He wanted to know if what Joseph Smith was preaching was true. Joseph Smith’s parents told him to pray and ask the lord. That advice can be applied in our lives. I love to pray, because when I pray, I get a feeling of peace and happiness. Recently I tried out for my school’s cross-country team, I prayed that I would make it. I ended up making it, but my prayer gave me peace for the night knowing that no matter what the lord was there for me.  I like that Oliver Cowdery went on to help Joseph Smith translate the Book of Mormon.  In our lives we all need help, even prophets.  My little sister does not like being alone in the dark, sometimes I let her sleep with me when she is scared. I love playing ROBLOX my new favorite game is 99 nights in the forest. I could never get very far on my own, however when I play co-op together with my sister together, we can stay alive longer.  We never would of have the blessing of the book of Mormon if others were not willing to help Joseph Smith translate it. Sometimes we are the helpers and sometimes we are the ones to receive help.  We just need to pray and ask the lord what he needs us to do. Great things will be accomplished.  Amen.
Azalyn’s part was; because of the church today we have many blessings from God. I will confirm their were tears.
Greg has started a new hobby: day trading. He finds it so fun, however when it is high it is high but when it is low it is LOW. He loves the challenge the watching. It has been fun to see him find something.
I lost a bet, so I owed Greg a date. We went to Ax throwing. It was really fun, and I was not as bad as I thought I would be. My shoulders were really sore the next day. The kids had to put themselves to bed. They were in bed but not asleep by the time we got home. Self with little kids dreaming of the day Greg and I can date again. The time is now if we had a free night.
The lord will help you Satan will fight just as hard. I set a goal in my mind to start going to the temple more.  I even put it on circles in case anyone would like to come with me. The day was the day my kids got sick. Now I sneak out and only do the appointment the night before. The blessing I get is peace in myself, meal planning, or if I have a nag, it will go away, or I will find a solution.
Family News: The kids and I applied for the Easter Pageant. Will we get in I have no clue. However, we made an effort, and the lord knows we are willing to serve in no matter what capacity.
