Denali definitely knows what he wants and what he does not want to do. One thing with him is you cannot force him to do anything. (that comes from his DAD)
Denali favorite thing to do is EAT! He will basically eat anything. His top favorites are: nutella, potatoes, peanut butter, fry sauce and popcorn. He will tell you when he gets hungry but if you put a plate of food in front of him, he will eat at any time. Most days about 5 I make popcorn and we sit and watch a show for 30 min. (My dirty little secret is; I really got into this season of the bachelorette) on the days he wants popcorn he will hand me the remote then take my hand to the kitchen and point at the microwave. He loves the day after the movies we always have lot of popcorn leftover.
It has been a really hot summer. Denali loves to play in water so I made a red neck swimming pool. I really should just go and buy a $5 blow up pool. Next year for sure. I was leaving him by himself outside with the door open but then two thing happen. The first was when he was out front, I was doing dishes and he was just talking at the door. Then I could not hear him talking any more. When I went out front to find time, no Denali. I went around the van no Denali. Small panic. I was past our neighbor's house looked down the road and he was around the house. It was a good 500 + feet. Then he was out back playing on the steps and he slid with his face down the steps. He had some good scraps. I guess it will not be the first or last time something like that happens.
Denali is going to be a climber. I was cooking one day and looked over to find that he can climbed onto the step stool. This would not be so bad had this been up to the counter. He was about ready to step off. He can now climb up into Grandmas tree house. Greg was a great dad and stayed out with him for about 30 mins for him to climb up and down. Then were we at the mall he climbed about 3 rungs of a latter before Greg and I found him.
Most of the time when I go to Costo or Maceys I will take Denali to the splash pad after. One day the splash pad was closed so we went to the park. Denali loves to go down the slide. He can get up all by himself. I was kind of scared with the other kids but kids are better than adults about looking out for others.
Denali loves when daddy comes home. He get so excited to see daddy walk through the door. After dinner Greg plays with Denali for about 30 min before bedtime. Then he puts Denali to bed. I am not sure who looks more forward to this time Greg or Denali.
