Crazy miracle story: Right before Thanksgiving I wanted to make homemade corn nuts. I put the oil on the pan, turned it on and put on the lid. Then Denali was climbing on the table so I went and got him off, one thing let to another and I forgot about the oil. Until I started to smell something burning. I ran over and took off the lid. The air hit the hot oil and it blew up. Denali started to scream, I ran I and got my 5lbs bag of baking soda. I did know that I could not put water on a grease fire. There were flames that hit my ceiling. Every fire alarm in the house was going off and there was smoke billowing out of ever window and door. Then I called Greg and told him I had done an ooops. He came right home, there was the initial WHAT THE.....but I have to say he was happy that no one got hurt and that I had saved the kitchen by knowing not to put water on it. We went and ordered new appliance since ours were unusable. Once we got home (it had be several hours) that is when I started to freak out. I saw what could have happened. Also, I saw the biggest miracle of all NO ONE WAS HURT. When Denali started to scream he did not run too me he ran in the front room I have no doubt to an angle.
The first picture is what happen (what you cannot see is my glass stove top it cracked it in a few places, there was a big chunk of glass missing.) Also my ceiling was black. The 2nd pictures is all the new stuff I got, there is still lots of clean up to do.
Now to cool it down. The first really big snow of the year Timbers family just happen to be here. They came for the night and 3 days later they left. It was so fun to have them and Denali was really sad when all the fun kids left. Denim was nice enough to try and take Denali out in the snow. It took me 10 min to get him dressed and he stayed out there for 1min. Just long enough for me to snap one cute picture. It was all good because we had fun rolling and climbing on each other the rest of the day.
