For New Years we went to Sonya's. Hung out
watched movies and played games. Colvin took a really good nap (he called a few
people on my phone, McCarty and Greg before falling asleep). We stayed till
late no one wanted the holidays to end.
I love how honest little kids are; I guess
that is why the scriptures tell us to be like little children. I was in my room
and Colvin started to cry. Denali came in with a smirk on his face. I asked why
is B (Colvin) crying. Denali said, “mom he was bugging me so I pushed him.” I
have to be careful not to teach him how to lie. He does not get in trouble if
he tells the truth. He does have to tell his brother sorry. After dinner Colvin
was crying and Denali had his blanket. I asked if he was trying to play or bug
him. Deanli said, “I am bugging him” then smiled. He had to give the blanket
back. The crazy thing is they really are best friends. They usually play really
well together but they are still sibling and brothers.
Since it is the New Year I have been
wanted to do a lot of home improvements. One home improvement job a month. We
moved the love seat up to our room and I love it. Since we are doing home
improvements I thought some deep cleaning was in order. I actually cleaned the
oven, I got a little carried away and took off the whole glass front. I had to
wait till Greg got home to put it back together. He told me no more undoing
things till he is home. I cleaned out the 2 little rooms upstairs. WOW do we
have a ton of junk. Both rooms took ALL day. I do love deep cleaning you find a
lot of cool stuff and the DI loves us. My boys learned something too, they get
to help out. They thought it was fun to be behind the washer. They did not think
it was so fun to pick up the paper.
Greg had to work late one day so I asked
Denali what he wanted to do. He said go to Timber house. We got Timber out of
bed and she said come on over. We got ready and head out. We ended up staying
the night. The kids had SOOO much fun, and that is what matters. The one bad
thing, Timber’s kids don't sleep. We came home and sleep.
I can feel the darkness came because my
Vitim D level is depleted. To stop the darkness I decided I wanted a treadmill.
It took most of the month to find what I wanted. It is HUGE! 60 in. long
and 26 in wide, it can incline up to 15% (boy does that kill you), has 12 speed
setting (6 is my max) can fold up, very heavy. It took up my WHOLE van. I had
to put the kids in Greg's car. We (Greg and I) almost did not get it in the
house. The kids even love playing on it. It has helped so much. Denali watched
a youtube video about a guy dancing on a treadmill. He wanted to try (I should
have the video side by side but I am not that cool) Denali is crazy fast on it.
Colvin just likes to walk.
We are sick of our kids not sleeping, or
sleeping in our bed. We let Colvin cry it out
it took him about 5min to go back to sleep. We put Denali’s toddler bed
in our room. He comes to our bed and we put him in the toddle bed. Everyone is
sleeping more.
Denali Loves to help. I made them popcorn
with ranch before I went upstairs to take a shower. Denali came up later and
with a big smile; “mom I help Colvin get stuff”. DUN DUN DUN come down stairs
and there was 1/2 a bottle of ranch in a bowl of popcorn. YEP my kids are mine
they love ranch in evey form.
Amanda asked if we wanted to go to hang
time. The answer is always yes. I had been doing a ton of cleaning so it was a
good reward for my kids for being so good. Everything that Denali does Colvin
thinks he can do, fun to watch. Denali is very brave if he thinks he has
something to hold on too. Colvin just jumped
The big news of January, we had kittens
again. Denali woke up not feeling good. I was trying to take care of him but
the cat was just in the way and acting so weird. I got Denali on the couch and
then got her box ready, she went right in. Denali went to sleep, and about 5 min
later I heard the first meow. Colvin and I went running over to watch the 2nd
kitten be born. Colvin was really good watching. She ended up having 5 kittens.
That night Denali (after getting medics in him) was really excited to hold
them. Colvin just wants to see them but he did not want them to touch
him.
January was a good start to the New Year!
Stories of January:
*Denali’s new things is names. He wants to know everyone
name. He is really confused that some girls have 4 names but he only get 3. He
also get confused with nicknames. We were at Sonya’s and someone said Denali
you are really cute. He said mom she does not know my name I am not cute I am
Nenali.
*We had our first non-family babysitter come to our house,
so we could go to the Proctor Adult Dinner. It was fun and the babysitter said
they did really good. My house was still standing bounce.
*Denali loved nursery but primary has been really hard. I
stay for opening exercise then he has to go to class. We have started a thing
at home, He can do hard thing. (This was inspiration) he did not
want to clean up and I told him, " Denali you are big you can do hard thing"it
has help in every aspect of his life.He will even say it to himself “I can do
it I can do hard thing."
*We got the pass of all passes this year. Instead of just using
them to swim we have tried other things. We went to a Hockey game. Greg and I
loved it but it got kind of long for the kids.
*We took Denali and Colvin to MD after the game. Colvin
finally followed Denali up the play place and down the slide. It was so nice
knowing that they can look after each other.
*Greg’s family – one Sunday all of Sonay’s kids were sick so
it was only us up at his parents. The kids were being such goofs. It was so fun
to let his parents see their personality. We had a Big family dinner
because Greg’s mom went back to work. Greg would really like her to retire, but
it is just nice seeing her healthy again.
*Greg has had to work a lot to make up for the holidays –
Denali has been a monster. It took us about 3 days to put two and two together.
Greg has to be really good about spending time with Denali when he was home and
call him throughout the day. It just goes to show how important daddy are.
*I got into a show “When calls the heart” I watched 2 season
in 4 days. My poor kids ate more suckers in 4 days than in 4 month. I made
two rules. 1. Cannot start a show without Greg I need him to stop me 2. RUN
I need out of this funk
