I discover the most amazing place so close to my house. A Huge
Wonderful raspberry patch. I took Sierra, Timber and Greg along with all the
kids. Sierra and I only got about 3 lbs. but Timber and I got 13lbs of
raspberries and 5lbs of strawberries. I took Greg at the very end of the
season, we got enough to put on ice cream. I only made jam with Timber the rest
of the raspberries were only for eating. We made a lot more jam that originally
anticipated. We had to run to the store a few times to get more stuff. The kids
thought it was great all the free TV time they wanted.
Sierra came up one last time to swim. We let the kids jump till
dark then ate ice-cream. The next morning we did water balloons and ran through
the sprinklers. The kids were "getting warm" Mace did not quite get
the whole lay down thing. (Too hard to get up). Then we went to Hyrum’s
blessing. There were 3 adults 5 kids 2 big pads sleeping bags and suitcases. We
were packed and making memories.
Trujillo was so excited to have us all there. He has the biggest
above ground pool I have ever seen. I can swim in it. We played tag for about
30min. After most of the little kids had jumped in and deemed it too cold. Then
we went to the park and played volleyball. The goal was just to have a good
time. Then the main event. Trujillo has the tinniest chapel I have ever seen.
The blessing was so sweet. I love seeing the priesthood in action. Ok a few
funny things Denali put himself to bed when we got home from the park. My boys
did not wake up till 8 (of course they sleep in the day I cannot)
We received a huge blessing. Greg found a guy on facebook that was
moving dirt and was willing to deliver for free. We were the closest that
inquire so we won by default. He was removing a mountain from his back yard. He
ended up dropping off about 9 trailer loads. We moved 80% with a shovel and wheelbarrow.
The boys thought they would "help" too. They did like pulling the
wagon with rocks in it. We had 2 neighbors help us. It goes so much faster with
help. Our bodies were dead by the end of 2 weeks. We know a back yard is going
to be a ton of work but worth it.
Colvin started preschool. He was beyond excited to go. I got a few
pictures in before he jumped in the van. We still had tons of dirt (Colvin's
own heaven) When I first opened the door he went straight for the dirt. I told
him NOT to play in the dirt with his nice school close on, Denali was the big
helper and was holding him back from the dirt. The guys working on the fence
just started laughing. They said I think each one of our moms told us the same
thing. We all dropped Colvin off he took his teacher hand and that was all she
wrote. No one (Dad Mom or Denali) got a glance good-by let alone a kiss.
It was none stop about how wonderful school was when I picked him up. He slept
with his first day of school crown. (This is the lion story: the 2nd day of
school he jumped in the car and said mom," lion goes roar loud but in
backpack sshh go night night". The story I put together was on the
playground he was roaring at everyone. The teacher needed him to be quite so
they make him put it away and go to sleep) The next morning he was
so excited to go to school till I had to tell him it was not his school day
just Denali's. The waterworks!!! Cute and funny. School is a great motivator on
school days, “If you don't listen or get dressed no school”, I have never seen
him get undressed so fast. Love he loves it.
After we drop Colvin off at school Denali and I have about 15min.
I love one on one time with my boys. There personalities shine.
Denali got into a painting faze. One night he wanted to make
everyone look "pretty" we all got our face painted. The funny thing
is Greg forgot his face was painted when he went and talked to the neighbors.
He got some funny but you’re a good dad looks.
Why in this faze we went to the park and found an utahrock
facebook rock. The boys were so excited to rehide it and paint their own. I am
so sad I did not get a picture of their rocks. Colvin had me glue on a picture
of peppa pig and Denali glued on a picture of a cookie. As of the end of
September no one has reposted our rocks, I hope someday. It was fun to go as a
family and hide them.
Our goal is to be as involved in the school as we can. We
went to a little dinner and music at the school. Greg and I really tried to be
social. We talked to a dad that his daughter is in Denali's class. It was also
fun to see Denali play with kids in his class.
OUR fence finally got all put up. They did a number on our
sprinklers and the gate is still not up but it does look really nice. It makes
our backyard look so small. We just need to pull our forest of weeds. One step
closer to grass.
The new thing for the boys is riding the bus. Denali was really
scared to go by himself. However, we have a little boy (Denali's new hero) in
our neighborhood that said he would help Denali. It made me cry how big Denali
was on the bus and how wonderful this little boy is (he is only in 2nd grade) I
cannot wait till my boys can pay it forward. Colvin was NOT happy that he did
not get to ride the bus. The next school day I had the bus come pick Colvin up.
Did not get a picture because Colvin was on the bus before I could say bye. The
bus will bring Colvin home, but it was too much. He said mom too long. I
have to admit we only rode the bus 3 times. It comes way to early no play or TV
time in the morning if we ride the bus.
Fall always brings a change to the air and to life. I know that
big change in the Proctor home is baby soon, now what does soon means 18mons
but change none the less.
It was Denali's family spot light for school. I got all the
pictures (Denali told me what he wanted to show about his family and
likes) Greg helped him put it all together. It was so cute!
For Conference I brought trains. It was like Christmas for the
boys. They loved it and it brought back fun memories. Greg and I got to
listen to conference, win win for all.
Stories:
I love my boys there is never a dull moment with them. Colvin's new thing is
burping. We were trying to tell him that when he burps he needs to say excuse
me. He was burping at the table we were asking him what needed to say, then all
the sudden he stopped and exclaims, Mom I just burped out of my butt" that
was all I could do...I almost peeded my pants.
*Colvin
also got gum stuck up his nose. Greg was able to have him blow enough to get it
out.
*
We asked them what they learned in church. Denali said to be nice to everyone.
Colvin said I ran and yelled it was so fun mom. Next year is going to be harsh
for that boy.
*
My boys cannot handle when we rush and I push them. Epically in the morning for
school. I have to plan my mornings to have happy children.
*I
have had T and Drex for a few nights. I just have to remember I am doing
service.
*I
am a super finder. I found Greg's wallet he lost this summer why looking for
his current wallet he lost. (note I found his current one too) He owns me a date.
*For
Stake Conference I tried to implement one thing; Read the real Book of Mormon
with the kids
*
For General Conference I am going to look for the hand of God in my everyday
life
*
We are trying to do more service outside the family. We cut our neighbors
grass.
*I
cut the boys hair. I actually tired a hair style on Denali. Practice is going
to make perfect. Colvin was not about to hold still.
*
I am really trying to be a better mom. One thing I am implementing is only counting
once. Wow does it change attitudes fast.
*Two
growing things I did. One made salsa for Greg did not turn out great but he
loves me for the effort I made. Two went to a ward party and really tried to talk
to people.
*It
is a small world. The person that I am carpooling with lived in Lubbock TX and knew
my cousin.
