Greg and I decided years ago that we will do whatever it takes to have our
boys close to family. Sonya did not want to do family dinner, we stepped in. It
was fun and hard. Hard because Greg had to take his grandma home. Denali's new
thing is spelling his name and really pronouncing the D. It is kind of cute and
embarrassing at the same time. I get to help in Denali's class and it is so fun
to see him interact with the kids and see how the classroom runs. I picked
Colvin up from school one day. On the way home he told me mom school all done
no more. I said you don’t want to go back to school. NOPE all done. I really
thought it would pass but the next school day he was not going. When I asked
him why he said my teacher says SHHHH all the time and makes me sit. HA HA
Colvin’s nemesis sitting still.
Of course, Fall takes us to pumpkin patches. We hit up Jackers. Every year
they up their price a little. Still fun but we do one big family night not 5
little day trips. The kids are starting to really love the corn pit, but at
last the slide is still the top hit. We tried to take a family picture, but we
get more memory then picture. We went to the new Patch in Salem right before
Halloween to get pumpkins. Pricy, but fun to try. They had rigged up swings on
the horse walker. The only bad thing was you had to pull the horse walker. The
kids thought it was so fun to go super faster but mom and dad together only
equal one-horse power. We went on a wagon ride, it was fun. Denali really could
not wait to get a pumpkin. Colvin was tired. Denali pulled Colvin in the wagon
half to be kind, and half so he did not have to wait any longer with us trying
to make Colvin happy. We did carve pumpkins but not till the bitter end.
Time needs to slow down.
Our big news was we got the backyard graded. It makes our back yard look
massive. I was so sad when we put up our fence since it shrunk our backyard,
but I am happy again. Greg and I are working on the sides, still labor of love.
We are also putting dirt around the fence, we just need more fill dirt for
that.
In October they do red ribbon week and every day of the week the kids dress
up. Since I have a memory of a gold fish Denali wore funny sock day for 2 days,
he just loved wearing his Olaf socks to school.
I finally had Shirley over. It was so fun talking to her. I forgot how much
I really do miss her. I loved our walks when our kids were little. The best
part of the talk was we discovered that we are both going to be in Vegas at the
same time in the same place. Fast-forward a few days. We did see them at the
pool for about 10min. She saw Denali first, she called him Nali and he told her
his name was "D"enali.
Vegas was so fun but a vacation with kids is not relaxing. It did not help
that I stayed up till 2 on our first night. We stayed with Brittany and it was
so fun just talking. It took a day or 2 to catch up on sleep. It was not as hot
in Vegas as we would have liked but still fun. The boys loved the sand pit and
the hot tub. Played lots of games, the best new game was Sushi Go Party, I
bought it on the way home. Denali and I play ALL the time. Greg and I went to a
time share offer to get free tickets to a Variety Show. Tana and her kids were awesome
and watched the boys why we went to the sales pitch. The show was fun, since
the tickets were free. The boys enjoyed it and that was the main point. We also
let the boys pick out souvenirs. They each got a key chain, I got a hat and
Greg got a t-shirt. I wish I had something from every place I went to as a kid,
so I could hold onto memories. A funny story; one night I got up and checked on
the boys. Colvin was gone. At 2am I freak out fast. Greg jumped out of bed fast
and we started searching. We just started going from room to room.
Spencer was in the next room on a fold out bed, Colvin had climbed into bed
with him and then snuggled under him. Neither one woke up. Put him back to bed.
We got to see mermaids, Colvin was scared Denali was a little flirt, blowing
kisses and the works. We went to the coolest park in a very shady area of
town. Even had bouncers at the park. My boys favorite part was going to watch
the planes come in and take off. Spencer and Colvin were playing with the
garbage making it fly into the fence. BOYS!! We were so glad we were with
Tana's family. It was awesome making memories with them.
Story of Vegas: The first of October there was a mass shooting on the Vegas
Strip about 55 people were killed. We drove the strip and there was hardly
anyone, people are scared. The boys did Vegas right crashed out at the
end.
We wanted to try one more outside movie, We ALL got cold. Colvin made a tent
out of blankets with my lap to stay warm. Our faces were ice, but our hearts
were warm.
At the beginning of October, I had big plans to make Halloween costumes for
the boys. Time was not on my side. The day before our ward party I took the
boys to kid to kid. Mercifully the boys both found something they wanted to
be. Denali was PJ from PJ mask AKA Cat boy. Colvin was rubble from
Paw Patrol. I was a cute cat with my Christmas PJS. It was just me and the boys
at the ward party. I am trying to be more outgoing. I went and watched the
School Halloween parade, as we were running (we were late) into the school
Denali asked me why I was not dressed up. I told him that being a mom was my
favorite costume. I sat by a mom that heard that and said it was so cute.
Denali held Colvin’s hand through the parade, so Colvin could have a parade
too. (Colvin's school did do a parade, but I cannot be in 2 places at once) The
next party was Greg’s work. They did not have as much candy this year but still
fun. Tana came with Spencer and Sammy (Sammy was a hot air balloon and was so
carful the whole time till the very end and popped her balloon) Sid brought the
2 littles too. It is always more fun with friends. The parties just keep
coming. We went to the VA home to see Greg’s dad. WOW talk about candy over
load.We also got a family treat or will get a family treat in about 8 ms. Nena is going to have a baby. The kids had so much candy they could not even carry their baskets.
We made Greg a shirt that said, "Animal Control" since the rest of
the family was animals (sorry we did not get a good picture) We only trick or
treated our neighborhood since my kids had a plethora of candy. The boys ended
up with a gallon bag each 2 things of play-doh and extra candy in their baskets.
SCORE!!
McCarty and family came and seen us on their way to Cedar City. It was perfect
timing since I had IEPS and did not want to take the kids. Colvin's teacher was
trying to say everything we know about Colvin in a nice way IE Colvin has lot
of energy. Then McCarty wanted to take family pictures and had a plan in her
head. Her poor family just wait till kid number 2 ;)
We also went to the Cedar city open house. (we decided that we want to take our
kids to as many open houses as we can) we want our kids to have fun happy
memories of the temple. Baler loved being with the boys. The Cedar City temple
has TONS of stairs. After the temple we went to Trujillo's and celebrated
Holden’s birthday.
STORY: We did not leave for Cedar till after Greg got home from work. I had
run to the Dollar store with the boys to get Holden a present. The boys were
being so good, and I got talking to a lady in front of me. She ended up paying
for my items. I know it was not a lot, but it meant SOOO much to me. I could
not stop the tears.
Back to story. On our way home we stopped at Timbers to pick up Denims bunny
to sale. Timber had lunch ready, so we ate first. Then we went to get the bunny
and it was dead. Next bunny story: I had a VT "party" at my house. We
got talking about funny animal stories. I told them about my bunny that I think
a hawk ate. Then someone talked about finding a bunny when they were doing
their back yard. Turns out it was one in the same. I think this is a sign that
I am not a bunny farmer. Colvin is still coming in our room most nights.
Sometimes it is easier if Greg or I leave. I am still married to my best friend we do funny things all the time, our new adventure was a face mask. It was very uncomfortable but so fun. Life goes on at rocket speed.

STOREIS: Greg started a new job not great hour and he has to work one Sunday
a month. I did ok my first Sunday. On Mondays Greg works till 9 (being a single
mom is no fun) the first Monday at dinner Colvin got sick and threw up on me 3
times. I had to do all the cleaning. PRAY PRAY PRAY!
*Colvin stuck another bead up his nose. This time we could not get it out because
it had a hole in the middle of it, so air just went through it. The Doctor
scared him a little about sticking things up his nose. I hope that is the last
of it.
*There are times I feel like I am being pulled in 100 different directions.
If I make a list and know where I am going I will make the finish line.
*Some People: There was this little boy in Denali's primary that wanted to
have a play date. I gave the mom my number, and that week she called and asked
if we could have a late play date. I did not really think anything about it.
Till she dropped off the 5-yr. old and her 8mo. old baby. Really, she just
needed a free babysitter. She then wanted to have me watch them till 10PM
NONO!!
*Denali had his first primary program. (he did so good) they staggered older
kids with the little kids to keep them reverent. Denali sat by a bigger kid and
talked to him the whole time. The boys said that he was impressed Denali was
not scared of him. We said that he has uncle Preston.
