January

January is the get back on a schedule and survive till summer. It started out with lots of family and surprises. Greg's dad gave us money so we wanted to do something with it that the kids could say Grandpa gave that to me. So we bought a Wii, with lot of games. LOVE at first sight. Then Tana's family came for New Years day. They stayed will about 7, so fun to play tons of games and eat lot of food. Then Mom and Dad stopped by on their way home, another surprise. They picked up my kids at Costco (they went and did a car wash). Dad played the Wii with Denali. Highlight for Denali. Since they were here Greg and I went to the movies. We finally went to "The Greatest Showman" STOP! Lets talk, best movie I have seen in a LONG time. I saw it 3 times just in January. Timber came up, we took all the kids to the $5 movie. Then Greg and I took our kids (Denali loved it he wanted to see it again) cannot wait for it to come out on DVD. Lets talk about movies. We also took the boys to Star Wars. It got a little long. Denali does fine on our lap but Colvin wants his own seat. He puts his blanket over his head and watched youtube on our phones. Now our family time is movies or Wii.  I took Sammy to Jumanji, it was cute but the original is still so much better. There was some funny parts, I could not stop laughing Sammy said I was loud.
Colvin is so funny, he is reward based. I was doing flash cards with him, he knew none of them. Then I put candy on the cards surprise surprise he knew all of them. I had his IEP and the main thing was he does not come to school enough to get tons of reading. I will do my best to do better.  Colvin is brilliant when it comes to figuring things out. The boys wanted to climb on my van. I told them to figure it out. (I thought they would not figure it out) Took Colvin about 5 min then he showed the others. We got another little snow storm just powered so no snow man. Colvin played in it for about 5 minutes. Then we had to take a tubby tubby (we take 2-3 a day).
Greg works the first Sunday of the month. I was kind of scared with Colvin going into Sunbeams. I have a blessing on first Sundays, my hair just works and looks cute. Then Colvin did really good, he was excited to be with Denali. Then Denali did his first talk, he did such a cute job. I also had IEP for Denali, his teacher was impressed with his math. She said to work on his reading. Denali had has a wart on his toe but it has started to hurt. We had to freeze it off. It was heart braking, he scram for about 30 minutes. We walked into Maceys and there was this lady just walking in front of us. Denali Yelled, "Move your butt I am trying to get to the Donuts." BOYS!
The boys are still sleeping on our floor most nights. Greg told me he was tired from rolling over when I move the kids. Can you feel the eye roll. They get to start in our bed if Greg is gone. They like to snuggle their cats in our bed. We have cats ONLY for the kids.
There are times Greg would like to strangle me. He wanted to use the treadmill and it would not turn on. He ran to Ace to fix the plug, came home and fixed it. Still would not work, then I reach down and flipped the on switch.  I started laughing, can you feel his frustration?
The kids want to get out and play. The weather is warm one minute and cold the next. During one of the cold spins I let Denali drive in the parking lot. He thought going 5 mph was great. Colvin loved being in the front seat and sticking his head out like a dog. Mom liked being warm. Win Win for all.
I finish and got my 2017 blog printed. Go me!! Some of the pictures that did not make the cover.
Sierra came down for the weekend. Preston had to take a test. My kids were determined to go sledding with cousins, they were not slowed by the face we have no snow. There was tons of mud everywhere. I made everyone strip in the garage. We plugged my washer. MEMORIES. I also had to try my hand at making slime again. Epic fail on all accounts. Sierra and I even used borax, NOPE! I guess I am going to have to wait to see mom.
Sierra said the trip was hard because she was car sick driving. Ya right, I made her take a pregnancy test and guess what it came up positive. SO happy!! We went to the recreation center, and the Lehi Fun Center. They had free arcades, we stayed till they were locking up. Mace hated the frogger the first 3 times. The first time we scared the pop out of him, literally.  After he learned to scream he would not get off. We had to pull him off screaming.
Denali can now ride a bike (no training wheels) he has a hard time starting, that is why he needed a scooter and he needs to work on his leg muscle for uphill. The balance bike really did help. Now we need to work on that for Colvin.
I made a chore chart for the kids. Each square is $0.10  so the line is worth a $1. I will keep you updated on the success.
This month was some of the hardest Monday. Main reason the boys have been so use to Greg being home with the holidays. I just have to realize that I am a Mom first. Things will fit into place if you have your priorities straight.  Greg had me read a book "Where will you be in five years from today" It is all  about dreaming BIG! My Big dream right now, make enough money for a maid service. I want to spend more time with my kids.
Had to just thought this is, sometimes amazons packaging is so funny.
Stories: For the new year we each made goals. Greg: Get a good score on his GMAT and get into a school. Syringa: chill out, watch what I eat. Denali: Help out more. Colvin: Listen. Family: Budget.
*I am getting better at kicking darkness butt. This is something I keep relearning, run and keep the house clean.
*Our boys realized how much they love Mexican food. When we go out now, both our plates are clean.
*The cats have been clawing up the carpet. Time for cat nails but I did not want them to come off. Gorillo glue it was.
* Greg let me go to book club and let me stay out as long as I wanted. Felt so grown up.
*The down side about staying up late was I had to get up early the next morning. I did bountiful baskets. I was kind of disappointed. Very few of about 6 things. I don't think I will do a basket very often.
*Denali sometimes wants to be big AKA in charge and stay home with Colvin. I had to run a few fast errands. It took longer than I thought. I kept calling Denali to make sure they would ok. No pick up I was freaking out. When I got home Denali said mom I was playing a game why did you kept calling? Ya they were fine but we had a talk about answering the phone.
