I was going to be the fun-loving
mom. Satan does not want you to be happy, but the lord has a backup plan. Let
me explain: The boys woke up at 5:45 and wanted to get up to find the (Adjective)
ELF. Then Azalyn woke up with a BLOW out. She went into the bath by 7:30. On
the way to school I almost got hit, slammed on the brakes, and swerved to save Greg’s
car. Colvin was scared and would not go to school. Worked out great since
Azalyn needed a friend and I had cleaning. Dec 1st. But wait there is more. I
made the kids help me clean the cars out. Greg had a gallon of syrup that broke
ALL over my living room. Then on the 27th Azalyn not filling great is up till
one screaming then precedes to throw up all over Greg and the bed. Shower
before bed. You can laugh or you can cry. You can be (adjective with a P) or
you can breathe and realize not everything is going to get done and be ok with
that. Just be happy! The whole point of this season was starting early to
minimize the stress. However the lord does have a since of humor when a gloves lands how you feel.
Now on to funny stories. One bath morning Azalyn went running into her dad’s office with only a towel then drops it and yells TA DA. We all need a little more self-confidence. She is moms little helper. Or her little comedian. I found a picture of Tink around the same age as Azalyn. How can his family not see in? Colvin got in trouble at church, punishment was he had to play a game with me. We

I started a picture project; I had a
box of pictures that I needed to find a home for. 7 years of prints is a lot. I
also have never made ANY type of baby book for Azalyn. I started and happy to
report with lots of divine help got ALL done. Azalyn LOVED her picture book.
She had to sleep with it a few nights.
Happy but Sad news. Brody is getting a divorce. I am not going to say Thanksgiving was the final straw, but it did not hurt. I guess the lord does have backup plans and COVID can be a blessing.
We had a family Dinner and Sonya came down. Since it is DEC there was NOTHING available. We got takeout chilies and it was SO nice not having to cook. We did end up going out for Greg's dad’s birthday. It was a small group but sometimes that is better.
Our main family tradition is riding the train. What the kids love Greg and I endure, what Greg and I love the kids endure. Greg gets PTSD on the train. This year the only thing the Boys wanted to do was eat at MR. Beast burger. It is a takeout only, but they got their MR Beast burger. The kids LOVED playing at the mall play center. Then Greg and I wanted to walk temple square. Most of it is under construction so there are more videos. Azalyn loved waving to all the missionaries. Ok, so she calls Santa HO HO we went passed a Santa and she yelled hi HO HO, hi HO HO. so funny. Yes, tradition did not disappoint we had to wait for the train. Wonderful time was had by all.
Colvin had his last craft day. He was sad to go and sad to see it end. Denali was really sad for his guitar lesson to end. I want to find him a teacher so bad. Greg has really tried to spend more time with the kids. He plays with Azalyn during the day. The boys beg him to play Minecraft every night. Denali had a console with the orthodontic. We left with braces on. They want to knock it out in 3 months. They do this so they do not have to have braces on for years later.
We have received tons of snow. They said we have received as much snow already as we have all year last yr. Azalyn and I got to shovel snow. Greg got to take pictures for his work. We took the kids sledding. They loved it. Denali just wants to see how fast he can go. Colvin wants to see how crazy he can be. Azalyn just lays down and flies. After two hours the boys were not happy, we had to call it a night. They beg every night to go sledding. Mom can only do so much. The kids got creative and made their own hill in our back yard. Oh, how I am going to miss our yard.
December is party time. We had a ward breakfast party, and the same day had a Proctor party. The ward party was fun. The boys loved to sing on the stage and Azalyn thought she was so big because she got to stand up on the stage with them. We had a fun time at the Proctor party. Everyone but Gary came. We got to meet Calvin's girlfriend and she is nice. The boys both got nerf guns. Colvin got kinetic sand, Sonya was so proud of herself. Azalyn got a soft doll she now has to take everywhere. The kids just had a fun time playing with cousin. We drove through the lights at the park early this year. It is still magical, but I can tell we had done almost too much.
Next year Colvin gets to start activity days. They invited him to the last activity of the year. He felt so grown up and big. I love and hate it. He also loves sleeping on the floor next to a perfect bed. Here was a spelling test of his. I am so proud how hard he works. I love being involved in the school. During Christmas brake I had the red ribbon week committee over and we knocked 90% of it out. One night I did my nails. Azalyn was so sad the next morning I had to do hers. I woke up with a foot in my face the next morning "mom toes" how can you say no to that.
I was able to go to our book club book exchange. It rejuvenates me so much. However, I love to stay out late, and Greg is not a fan. There will be Karma.
HUGE NEWS: Greg PASSED his first of two tests. I had to keep myself remarkably busy that morning. It was good I got a ton done. It does not tell him his score only that he passed. We are just one step closer.
BLESSING: I left my wallet in a cart at Walmart. With divine inspiration I went and looked for it the next morning. (After calling about four times the day before) I found it along with another wallet in a broken cart with a tarp on it.
