Holiday

Mom did the coolest thing this year for Christmas. She gave us the 12 days of Christmas. Everyday starting on the 13th, we read a scripture having to do with Christ’s name. Then we unwrapped a present. Our favorite present was a candy cane game, with good or bad flavors. The kids looked forward every night to unwrapping something. 

I did do neighbor gifts. I think they are fun. We did "We are Soda lighted you are our Neighbors" for teacher we did "Teachers” 

Sierra had the Idea to make a game we had played at Thanksgiving called "The Vegas Dice Game" I took her idea and ran with it. I ended up making five games and had to buy a laminator. I then decided to make a whole Dice Box for Greg and Mom and Dad. It was a hit. There are five games in this little box. Vegas Dice game, liars’ dice with a board, Farkle, Yahtzee, and house of fire. 

Mom and Dad were able to come down on the 23rd so on the 24th we did the $5 gift. I would say Colvin got the best gift. Mom got him a whole kit of slime. Colvin was also the best shopper. He had Azalyn and was in and out of the Dollar store with in 5 min. 

Blessing: As Colvin and I were walking out of the dollar store a lady handed me a bill. At first, I thought it was just a $5 but when I opened it was $50. I tried to run her down and failed. So, we went to Wal-Mart broke the $50’s out into $5's and let the kids give away the money. Colvin loved it. Denali gave it to people with injuries. We just might make it a new tradition. 

We have our big dinner on the 24th. The kids wanted cheese sticks and stake. 

Christmas morning: *Sorry for the lack of pictures we were just trying to contain the chaos. * We made the boys wait in our room for sister to get up. We told them we would turn on a movie at 6 so 6:01 they were in our room asking for a movie. Azalyn got up about seven. The highlight present was Azalyn's princess box. She was totally content to not open another present. She also LOVED playing in the boys’ kayaks. We all had to play star realms with Denali a few times. Colvin had nerf bullets all over the house. I got new jeans that I was stoked for since I had 2 remaining pairs. Greg loved the picture of his parents and our kids. We all got our traditional Pen State apparel, this year the kids all got sweaters that match. We gave the kids a LLama LLama book in honor of Greg's mom.  We went to the church to meet up with Greg’s family for dinner. That was the best, space to play for adults and kids. No mess at my house. 

We had so much fun with Grandma and Grandpa. We had to take them to Nickle Manna. The kids loved "showing" them games to play. We also went swimming with them at the rec center. We got more snow, and the boys had a fun time shoveling it for 5 min. Reason again why we are moving to warmer weather. 

On the 31st we told the boys when it stopped snowing, we would go sledding. We thought we would be the only crazies on the hill. Far from it. I had ran my body ragged with the rest of the holiday week. We put the kids to bed and at 9 Greg and I went to bed. Best way to bring in the new year. ASLEEP!
