Just a fun month.
I got to go on a
field trip with Colvin. Only 6 parents
could come per class. Colvin stood at
his teacher’s door for about 10 min with slip and money, I was the first parent
on the list. There were only 3 in our
group, Colvin had got to pick his 2 friends.
We went to a science museum. The
most memorable thing was we could not find the parking for the building. We did not know we had to park in the
underground parking. We were about 10 min
late. We went around the building about 5 times. We had a great time together.
Timber came with
the kids. It was a blessing in more
than one way. We finally made it to
Sedona to slide rock. It was about a 2-hr.
drive. The parking is small and once it is
filled up, they close the park till people leave. It opened at 8, we got there about 9 and
there were 6 spaces left after us. We
got in free because of our summer reading program. It was really fun. The water was COLD! The rocks are slippery so even hard to walk
on. Denali LOVED it. Greg was the saver of more than one kid. At the bottom of the rocks the current is strong,
and he was tall enough to grab kids. I
will let the pictures do most of the talking.
Azalyn found a stick that she made everyone take a picture with, then
took it to school for show and share day.
I love seeing
prayers answered. I prayed for a year to
find the right school for the boys I
asked if they are glad, they moved schools.
They both said yes, now they are finding friends. They love the free
time they have after school. At parent teacher conferences all Denali’s
teachers could not say enough good. They
said we need to work on spelling but since most everything is typed; they are not
too concerned. Colvin’s teacher said that
he always knows the answers and sometimes she tells the class, “I am not going
to call on Colvin who else knows the answers” his dad is giving him a penny
every time she says it. I was able to
help at the book fair. The first day I
was so board. The 2nd day I was
late getting Az it was so busy. I love
helping at the school. Both of the boys got student of the month. I was heartbroken, I missed both emails. Colvin started soccer
and we hit the jackpot with the coaches.
It is a mother and son, but the son has played sim pro ball. They are good and intense; he is going to
learn a lot.
We went to a ward
camp out. We stuffed the car to the
point of bursting (Greg and I had to lean on the back to have it close). Blessing and trial. Almost to the camp site, we missed a fork in
the road and had to turn around. The
first time we went up the main road we saw a man in the ward but just thought he
was out for a walk. Since we missed the fork, we back tracked to
the main road again, Saw the same man still walking (it had been a good 45+min)
We stopped and asked if he knew were the ward was. He said that his daughter had got stuck and
lost in her car and he was trying to walk to the camp so he could go back to
her and show her the way. (he was lost too; he was just hoping to walk into the
camp or someone) He had been walking for about 2 hours. We helped him find his daughter. Since we
had missed the fork the first time, we had a better idea of where we were going
the 2nd time and could be the lead car. I don’t know what would have happened to
this poor man and his daughter since it was dark by the time, we got to the
ward camp. We brought the dogs, and
everyone loved them. We left about 10 and
the kids were sad. I hope we can do it again.
We did not go straight
home. We went to a meteor crater in
Az. It is the most well preserved meteor
crater in the world (since it did not form a lake) I am
glad we got to go see it but it is not something I would go out of your way for
(unless you are a scientist) On the way
home on the map there was a restaurant called La Casita (We had to stop, and
yes it was a hole in the wall) It was in the top 3 best Mexican restaurants we
have had in Arizona.
I had a pillow pop
on me in the washing machine. WoW was
there a lot of stuffing; it took me days to get it all (not sure it is still
ALL cleaned up.) Denali and his head. When he was little, like 2, he hit his head
one day and wore a band-aid for weeks after.
He fell at school and hit his head on the sidewalk, about 3 days later
(just as it was healing) he went to a party and hit it on a table, did not wear
a band-aid for weeks this time.
This is a kudos to
Greg. He took the younger activity boys
to a fire station. They all loved
it. Greg does not love activity days,
but he does some really fun activities.
Denali got to go hiking in the rain and had a blast.
Now that it is
cooling down a little, Greg BBQ and we ate outside. We made shish kebabs, the kids have so much
fun making them. Poor Greg was still
hot but the rest of us were wet from swimming and perfectly fine.
Funny: There was a scorpion in the chapel at
church. Greg stepped on it and when I
went to take a picture it started to move, the 2nd time he really stomped
on it.
My Cousin Breann
had her baby. Sep. 19th. Dayton. He was little 5 lb. 10 oz HEALTHY! I cannot wait to see him. Breann is a mom so exciting.
TRIP IDAHO: We
drove all night and got to Cart’s about 3 AM. We went to Idaho for a baby blessing. Greg would not let me drive. We made a bed in the back for the kids
again. Not sure if anyone but Azalyn
even slept. My boys loved Acacia. Colvin held her in the hammock for about 15 min. Azalyn would NOT hold her (she is…...) We made a fire in the back yard and just
talked all day. Kids love goofing around with cousins. Timber surprised McCarty, Sunday morning. I was going to get it on Video, but McCarty
was outside when she pulled up. We left
2 of the 3 girls at the house when we left for church. Preston did not make the blessing, but he was
doing the best things, picking up the forgotten. It was the primary program, 2 birds with one
stone. I was able to pop over and see my
cousin Addie’s baby: Talia. McCarty does
not use her back sliding door. However, mom
and I opened it to clean up the fire, Baler was so worried that I was going to
get a butt spanking from his mom. Then
Timber and Proctors went to Mom and dads.
Laughter really is the best medicine. Dad took the kids on the side by side. Then he took Timber and me. Then Greg took the boys, then Timber and I
went. Something about getting out and
just being alone in nature is healing. It
was a long drive, but it was worth it!
I was reading a self-help,
and they gave a different spin on love languages. I am putting it in here, so I don’t
forget. They said that as adults we need
all the love languages, but we have to have them given to us how we want. Example: An act of service for me is when Greg
(or anyone) tells me what to make for dinner.
Physical touch: When Greg sleeps by me, like not on the edge of the
bed. For Greg an act of service is when
I do something for him like pick up his RX or cut his hair.
