August

August is when we all go back to normal, (kind of) We had to do the most ridiculous thing. We had to put a diaper on Oreo. She went into heat, and we really don’t want her knocked up for a year.   We were overly cautious because Marshmallow was not super smart.
The Boys won a Harry Potter prize from the library. Denali won an owl stuffy, and Colvin won a seekers lamp.
School: Greg, gave each kid a blessing: I tried to shorthand as much as I could
Denali: Heavenly Father knows and understands everything.  Challenges and all the differences you are going through.  He knows your feeling of defeat. He knows your physical challenges.  He knows your spirit. There is a lot going on, you are kind, sweet and find enjoyment around you.  Find a friend that you can confide in, find enjoyment in, and can enjoy at school.  You are going to have challenges this year learn to grow.  Relate and try to connect with others.  Learn in school so you can provide for yourself and your future family.  Have fun and come to your parents with help, questions, and guidance. Pray.
Colvin: You are going to have unique changes this year with the new school, things are going to be different than how they have been done before.  Grow with the changes.  You have a fun demeanor keep that.  You are going to grow this year.  Learn skills that you can use in life to provide for your future family.  Reach out to others.  Have fun but work hard remember the Holy Ghost is there for you.  When trouble comes stay your happy self.  Learn from others differences.  Be a good example.  You are blessed with a healthy mind and body.   Have a great time at school and in life.
Azalyn: You have a keen intellect. Learn your ABC’s, math, reading, and art.  You have a sweet spirit.  Remember to laugh, smile, joke and have fun   You bring sunshine were ever you go.  You have a strong physical body and a strong spirit.  Grow towards our Heavenly Father. Be ready for kindergarten next year.
The boys had a great first day.  Denali’s backpack is 30 lbs.  Colvin has about 5 min of homework a night.  They love that they had time to play.   It took us a few days to figure out pickup, but now we have a great system.  Azalyn tried to be shy for the first day of school.  Once her teacher told her she needed her to be the big helper.  (She was the only returning student) She was big and took the “Helper” to heart.  Waves to me on the sidewalk, mom I am too big to have you walk me into school.   Getting back to a very strict schedule is exhausting.  The school had a fun raiser at a pizza place, it was PACKED!   Each kid got some candy and a ball (the place has a little arcade) so I guess it was a success.
Bought a new loom, it is a flexible loom so I can make any size I want.  I made fingerless gloves for everyone. The next project is socks.  I found the best stress releaser, skinning dipping.   At night the pool is perfect.
Hurricane Harbor is only open at night.  It is open from 5-9 PM.  We met Greg after work but did not stay the whole time.    The kids were hungry and cold.  When we got in the car it was still 104, they did not want the AC on COLD.  It is always the tiniest things that make the biggest difference.   On my vac-mops charger there is a very little magnet.  I lost the magnet, and it would not charge.   It is just like life, do the little things so that the big things take care of themselves.   Pray, make memories, try to read scriptures, go to church.  This also applies to getting stuff done.   Last year for Colvin’s birthday Greg got him a Lego Dragan they would going to put together.   Colvin has really wanted to finish it, they were about ½ way done.   Colvin got it down again, Greg and him worked on it for about 20 min a night and they finally finished.
Greg is now over 40, his body is starting to tell him he needs to take better care of himself.  The main thing is exercise, it is feast or famine for him.  One night he walked for about 20 min.  Only he did it bare foot and could hardly walk for the next 3 days.
BIG NEWS:  McCarty had her baby!!  Acacia Lynette Hatfield 7 lbs. 4 oz 20 inch.   Denali was the most excited to see all the pictures.  Colvin knew Acacia was a tree because of mind craft.  Azalyn decided that she did not like babies
You can only run for so long before your body makes you slow down.  I would not admit out loud that I got sick.   I had an ear appointment for Az, I was hoping they would say something because it hurts her to swim now (my mermaid will not get in the water) They were no help, the appointments are pointless, but we finally found a splash pad.
Timber found and sent some old family photos.  The kids could pick out McCarty because she was the littlest.  Timber she was the oldest.   They said if you cannot find Sierra just find the person that looks like Katana.   They had a hard time picking out me.
Memories are worth more than gold and silver, you cannot buy them you can only make them.
