I am doing Easter blog because there was so much that happened.
Our primary put together an easter packet for each family. Every day there were
scriptures and a picture. I must admit with everything, we did not make it
through all of it, BUT I plan on saving it and trying again next year.
The church has tried to put a bigger emphasis on
Easter. We decided to get together
(really the family just wanted to come see the Easter pageant). The smartest
thing I ever did was put mom in charge of the food. I just prayed we could have
a good time and make memories. That was fulfilled and so much more.
McCarty was the first family in. Sierra came a lot earlier than expected. She
tried to stop on the way here and sleep, but her kids would just wake up
thinking they were here. It took a toll on all of them the first night, they
were getting sick they were so tired.
Timber met us at the pageant, than came to the house.
It was not cold, but it was not warm. I bought a huge tarp to put on the pool to
warm it up a little. If you got in and swam it was not bad. Baler was NOT a
fan. He wanted the hot water they had last time when they came in August. (I must
agree with him; hot water is best). Sierras kids would swim if there were ice
chunks. They were the first ones in and last ones out every day.
I would say let the pictures do the talking, but we were so
busy making memories we did not stop to take that many pictures. Here are just
a few highlights. Dad did 2 classes of
water aerobics. He had on Acacias hat and was super serious. As we were both
freezing and sweating, we also were trying now to laugh so hard we would drown.
We made a “hot tub” in my bath after. I
did everyone’s (not the littles they would not stop) nails or toes. It was so
great to have one on one talk time. Ask them questions about their life. Talking about the “girls” they are finally
getting old enough to really play together. I know they will be a great
strength in each other’s lives. McCarty taught us a new game, dance telephone.
4 to 6 counts are more than enough.
We took everyone (not mom or Acacia) shooting. Everyone had
a good time. If you give a kid a rock and a stick, they will find something fun
to do.
The main event was the Mesa Pageant. I have seen it 3 years
in a row and I cry every time. So so
powerful!! We got there very early and had great seats right up front. We got
way too much pizza but stuffed ourselves.
Then the Egg Hut. We went at the start, with full purpose to
do it twice, stay the whole time. We wanted time to do the bounce houses.
However, it poured. I think each kid got to do one or two bounce houses. Blessing because before the rain, there were
1000 people. Each kid was getting maybe
3-4 eggs. Once it started to rain on the last hunt, they were giving out boxes
of eggs and bags of candy. We were
soaked (Dads had taken the littles home) but had huge smiles on our faces.
Timber and McCarty left Saturday. We did a small egg hunt in my backyard with
Sierra. Dad mom and Sierra left right after church. My house is destroyed but
My heart is full. Just a side note took the entire week to get it back to
normal but that is ok.
Sorry if you are reading this but the cousins made a video, put it on my blog. Video kids made:
