This started out a very warm October, the boys did not want to give up the summer fun so they had to play in the sprinklers. After 5 Min they came in and wanted a hot bath, but I did not want to stop them having fun, it is going to be cold sooner than we know it.
I was called to Jury Duty, the funny thing was, so was Sierra. I was really torn, on one hand I kind of wanted to go, but it was during are family vacation so I really wanted to go on vacation. The Doctor did give me a note but he did not know how much help it would be. It ended up that they settled out of court.
We crashed a neighbors party that was having a Nerf gun war. My kids have been begging for Nerf guns. I finally caved since I found really cheap ones. The first thing they did was shoot bullets into our neighbors back yard. We spent about an hour just looking for bullets. They decided that maybe shooting them inside was a better idea.
This year for conference I wanted to do something so that I could listen. My family always did money for certain words each talk. I did not think that would appeal to my kids so we did candy, Hi-chews. It was a hit. They eared the whole bag. Colvin could not eat them fast enough, Denali actually saved them. He was so into it that when Greg and I started talking he would shhh us so he would not miss a word. The big news is the change to 2 hour church starting in Jan. The prophet also challenged the women to read the whole book of Mormon by the end of the year. I started the old school, First edition way (story way) Greg got me years ago. He also asked us to go on a 10 day Social Media fast. (more in stories).
It was drug free week for Denali AKA dress up week. Monday I remembered about as we were walking out the door. Actually Denali remembered and asked if it was the special week. The best was him dressing up like a Nerd, (cutest nerd ever), and 80's (bright). His shoes even lit up.
Sonya's Niece had a baby (her last) it was a boy so she asked if I wanted her girl clothing. YES!! There were so many bags. Trujillo and Charlotte are moving so they also gave me TONS of girls clothing. What a blessing. The other blessing is when we went through the boys clothing they each only needed a few things. Blessing of shopping sales through out the year.
At the library there was a STEM things for 6+. I did not know how Denali would do on his own. It was a blessing for both boys. Colvin got me one on one (he could never get enough one on one time) and Denali loved that he was BIG! Now they want to do new project all the time. This was one I could do, ladybug apples.
Of course we have to talk about baby. We are 99% that we have a name but how to spell it AZAYLN or ASAYLN? The boys fight about her name too but it is over yes or no on cupcake. I just told them that cupcake will be her middle name. Now everyone calls her AZALYN (my spelling) cupcake. Greg had his back go out on him again. I do feel bad for him but then my back kind of went out. I have a whole new understanding of pain for him.
We took the boys to Jakers. It was the only pumpkin patch we made it to this year. One life got crazy and 2 it got cold. They had a blast. We got lost in the corn maze and went down a huge slide to a corn pit. They were bummed that the tractor was not running but there was other new stuff so they were content.
The Boys are still not sleeping. Denali is good about coming in our room. He just finds an open bed (there are 2 perma beds in my room) and crawls in and goes to sleep. Colvin has to come in our bed then I have to move him (usually a few times) I don't know what we are doing to do when the baby comes.
I love spending time withe Colvin. Sometimes he comes up with the funnest things. We were going through body parts and what they do. Ears hear, lips are to remind us we have butts.
VACATION: We went to Las Vegas with Greg's family. We were really hoping the boys would take a nap on the drive NOPE! It was like Christmas to them Las Vegas day. We were in the tower with the game room (that rocked and we spend a ton of time in there) the weather was perfect we were at the pool 90% of the time. We even went into the lazy river this year. My boys fell in love with Cody (Rusty's son) we all went and ate, that was a crazy fun. Greg and Denali were going to share but Denali ate 90% of the hamburger, Greg only got one bite. McCarty and Baler came and swam with us. Baler has an eidetic memory when it comes to his toys (I had brought extra sand toys). Then we went to a buffet with Brenden and McCarty I ate way too much. We even got to go to Church with McCarty. The last night was just us. Greg was inspired he put a chair by the door, I thought it was over kill but nope in the middle of the night Colvin tried to open the door. The way home was hard. I was tired and hurt. I have carried this girl very low, she flip and is not separating my pelvic. Yep it is as painful as it sounds. We stopped at Timbers for about 10 min but I just wanted to get home. A great time was had by all!!
As soon as we got home it was off and running. The boys had swim, Colvin was not so sure he wanted to do swim but ended up loving it. They both had great teachers and learned a lot. Greg just wants them to be comfortable around and in water.
Then it was the Holiday Halloween rush. Denali finally set his mind that he did want to be a pumpkin after all. Thank you Amazon 2 day shipping. The first party was the ward party. It was a chili's soup theme. (I thought it was a great Mormon thing that every brought their crock pots). Then Greg's work had a huge party. We were there till LATE the food took about 2 hours to get. Sid came with us thank you so she could watch the kids why we waited for food. The highlight for the boys was face painting and balloon animals. Then it was all the school parties. I went to Colvin's party (I was one of 2 moms that made it, this kind of made me sad for the other kids) Then Denali's parade the next day, Colvin got to walk with him and be super big. I also got to help with Denali's party (Greg had the day off) We only went to the VA home for about an hour because we had swim. (that was enough the boys still got a bucket of candy) then we just went around our neighborhood. It is so nice that my kids are bigger we got done by 9. Yes, if you see all the pictures Colvin had on a different costume every party we went to.
Sonya came and had Rusty's grand-baby. Denali was so excited to hold the baby. He cannot wait for his sister.
Colvin found 2 mice out side. He thought it was cool to show mom. YECK! I think one was a vole we put out more killer.
Being a mom has it hard moments. One night Colvin came into our room like normal but when I put in the other bed he smelled. When to his room and yes I smelled of throw up. As I was walking out I stepped in something wet. I did not want to know what to do, so I went in the bathroom and washed my foot and put down a towel. The next morning I followed the trail of throw up from my room to his. Poor kid and Poor mom! The kids wanted to do my hair so make me look so pretty.
Greg's friend did school pictures for $10. The boys turned out so cute. Denali and his dad have the same smile. Greg did some professional shots for his profile.
*I found out the hard way that I cannot drink our water up stairs. One morning It was all coming up. Colvin came in needed something, but when he saw me he said, "Take your time mom then help me" so sweet that I can take my time throwing up. I don't get that using the bathroom for any other reason.
*Above I talked about a 10 day social media fast, I did a whole phone only for talking fast no games. I learned a few things. One I like facebook to see people and buy thing. But I don't need my games or just the down time. There are so many other things I would rather do but because I have my phone facebook is easy to waste time on. Even after 10 day I have used facebook and my phone so very little.
* During conference Greg had inspiration, he knows that an online MBA program is going to be best for our family. It is what I have thought this whole time but he had to reach it not me. Now to just find the right college.
* We brought up Wii sports for the boys. Colvin can beat Denali. Denali does not love it so much. Denali always wins the wii games so it was big for Colvin.
*With Sid here we or I talk to her way to much. I have talked to her about her mom some. I just hope she can see that she wants to stay in the gospel.
