Denali is 12: Days are long, but years are short become truer
and truer every year. His dad flew home on his birthday, so we took him to Texas
Road House. He wore a birthday crown he had received from school and LOVED
everyone wishing him happy birthday. I love that he is still young enough to
enjoy the simple pleasures in life. We did open presents but not till LATE.
For his birthday dinner he wanted all the wings and Hawaiian
rolls he could eat. I cooked 2 FULL pans of wings. He wanted donuts for his cake.
The main present was a PHONE! I really thought we would have
to set rules for it but NOPE, he has to be told to take his phone. I had texted
the family with his new number and asked them to send a text. That was fun for
him to turn on the phone too.
Denali is really a great kid. He is his brothers best friend.
He is his sisters protector and helper. If she ever needs anything 99% of the time,
he is the one to help her. He will even let her sleep next to him most nights
(when they start in my room)
Note to self: Don’t set up your kids as google family accounts.
It is a pain in the butt to remove them.
